    Tunbridge Wells Holiday Cottages

Over 400 years ago, a natural spring welled up from the ground and was nicknamed the ‘Tunbridge Wells’ by locals. Later on, it was Queen Victoria who gave it royal assent and decreed the town Royal Tunbridge Wells.

Although the Queen of the day doesn’t visit quite as often, the spa town is now bustling with chic independent retailers, buzzy cafe bars, cool music venues and friendly pubs. The town is well known as a favoured culinary destination too, with The Hotel du Vin and Thackeray's both lauded for their cuisine. Tunbridge Wells is home to lots of green spaces - hence its reputation as a health centre. Stock up on soaps, potions and lotions all sourced from local ingredients.

At Snaptrip, we’re proud to act as a marketplace for the UK’s top accommodation providers, with thousands of holiday cottages on our site. Tunbridge Wells holiday cottages are all covered by the Snaptrip Best Price Guarantee, plus we have property feature filters to fine-tune your hunt for that perfect getaway. Have a question? What our customers say about their holidays

    • Miss Jowdie-Toombs - Verified booking

With a beautiful front garden and a pristine inside with lovely furniture that's extremely comfortable, this cottage has been the highlight of the past 5 years for us all. We all absolutely loved it and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The beds are so comfortable with lots of storage options in the rooms. The bathroom has a good pressure shower and no leaks! The kitchen has everything you could need including a washer/dryer in one, a dishwasher that works very well, and a range of stunning glasses/mugs/trays/plates. All the kitchen usables were gorgeous and there was even some oil and seasoning waiting there for us when we arrived. The front room has a beautiful comfy sofa that unfolds into a sofa bed although we didn't try it as we didn't need it. Its a lovely, pretty, quiet area, apart from some loud construction on the neighboring house on the last day. The size is perfect for 4 people however one bathroom can be slightly hard to navigate but usually it was fine. The stairs look slightly unstable near the top and some floorboards are a little out of place underneath the carpet which worried me but it was all stable enough for 3 big men and one woman although we had a rule of one person at a time on the stairs. The bathroom lock is quite tricky to work but the actual bathroom is a treat. We stayed here as we were performing at Black Deer festival, and safe to say it was the best decision we could've made! We preferred staying at the cottage than going out sometimes! The walk to town (for the shuttle bus and general shops) was intimidating at first as it's uphill but the second/third time you do it you start to appreciate it as it's quite quick, beautifully scenery and especially the turn into where all the cottages and apartments lay is beautiful. The walk to town took us about 10-15 minutes but we walk quite fast. When we had lots and lots of bags and suitcases to get there it took about 20-30, but it's so worth it. The only thing I will say is make sure you cross the road near the bottom of the hill as crossing by the opening is quite tricky and dangerous. WiFi worked very well we played lots of games and lots of monopoly! The front door even has a half and half door, meaning you can enjoy the beautiful sunlight while keeping half your door shut and it's such a comforting visual. TV was surprisingly good! When we saw it, bare in mind we all are quite techy, we thought it was just an old little TV that wouldn't work very well, but we connected our switches to it and it was rather good! Two fire alarms located near and in the kitchen which are quite sensitive so just make sure you know where they are. Freezer and fridge both extremely useful however I found the fridge had trouble with the magnets in the door and wouldn't stay shut sometimes. There's also a 20 minute walk away (an incredibly beautiful walk) from a big Sainsbury's which has very nice staff. The neighbours for this cottage are a delight. Specifically on the left with the conservatory a lovely old lady, who was funny and very sweet. Definitely recommend this. Thank you :) (sorry it's all out of the order)

Situated in a shared private cul-de-sac at the top of Tunbridge Wells, this property provides a location that has easy access to most of the towns major road arteries for local touring, aswell as the convenience of being just a healthy walk away from the Pantiles and other town attractions. It has been refurbished to an attractive standard, and incorporated all the extreme roof angles which provides for accommodation with lots of character. One downside is that there are plenty of stairs to negotiate which is fine for most families, but may not be ideal if for anyone with mobility issues. A terrific kitchen area is open to the dining area which in turn is open to the living/TV area. Upstairs the 2 bedrooms have excellent beds though one has an extreme roof angle so doesn't offer much opportunity for anything other than sleeping even though it feels far from cramped. There are 3 steps down to the one bathroom upstairs, which is is also equipped and decorated to a high standard. I recommend the property and would rent it again without hesitation.

Lovely small cottage within easy walking distance to centre of town. Very quiet and nice feel. We had some issues with one of the mattresses that was dealt with swiftly. Kitchen was well equipped. Bathroom was very sweet, down rather tight spiral steps and quite 'cosy' but all usable! Unfortunately you are not able to sit out at this property, there are two rather old and uncomfortable chairs across the courtyard (not sure who they belong to!?) but as a family of four this was not helpful. We visited in August and had great weather, but not being able to sit out nor dry any items outside was a real shame. In fact a very friendly neighbour asked us to remove the direr as it was not allowed even for half an hour and suggested we ought to have been informed -eek! We resorted to using the heated drier that is thankfully supplied but it did feel a little uncomfortable using a heated drier 24/7 to dry towels/ bathers/any washing etc as there was no where else to dry anything, in 30degree heat outside!

Perfect midweek break, located centrally for several fabulous historic gardens we wanted to visit. This is a stunning, simple but modern cottage with two bedrooms that each have an en-suite toilet cleverly connecting to a shared shower; fully equipped kitchen diner and lovely spacious sitting room. There's a small patio with gorgeous views across the garden, and parking outside. The owner thoughtfully provided some basic provisions: bread, butter, eggs, milk etc. and made contact the day we arrived. The owner has written a very useful house guide and made some good recommendations for local shops, vineyards, restaurants and attractions to visit. This cottage is perfectly located for visiting properties such as Chartwell House, Sissinghurst Castle, Great Dixter, Bateman's, Pashley Manor, Hever Castle and Sarah Raven's Cutting Garden. The maximum distance was about 40 minutes drive time to the furthest we visited... are there are so many more to see!

Very happy with the rental and am returning for two weeks in May. However, a couple of areas for improvement:- a) The left hand curtain and curtain rail in the sitting room were broken and need to be mended. b) Freezer needs a serious defrosting. c) There is no plug socket in the twin bedroom. No way to recharge your phone or use the hair dryer. Needs an extension cable. d) Landline telephone was not working. e) No dust pan and brush / or umbrella f) No smoke detector installed anywhere. I'm sure you need one by law g) Could subscribe to Netflix. Who uses DVDs anymore? Apart from these matters, I met the host, Gill and cleaner Jane who were both highly efficient and charming. Looking forward to my return with the rest of the family. Tim SHARPE

    Tonbridge Castle

Tonbridge Castle is reputedly England’s finest example of a Motte and Bailey Castle. Boasting a splendid 13th Century Gatehouse, it is also surrounded by acres of beautiful grounds. An audio tour brings to life the rich history. Today the castle hosts open-air cinema and theatre nights during the summer.

    Hever Castle & Gardens

Hever Castle began as a country house built in the 13th century and was home to the Boleyn family from 1462 - 1539 including Anne Boleyn, the second queen consort of King Henry VIII. The castle fell into disrepair in the early 1900s. Much of what you see is the result of the efforts of William Waldorf Astor, who used his fortune to restore and extend the Castle in the early 20th century.
