Enjoy an exciting city break with our Leeds holiday cottages

Looking for a city break destination that also gives you easy access to breathtaking countryside? Then the vibrant city of Leeds has everything you need and more for an unforgettable getaway.

Nestled in West Yorkshire, Leeds is a vibrant and interesting city where you can enjoy excellent food, fantastic shopping, exciting nightlife, and gorgeous outdoor space and nature.

This thriving city sits just a stone's throw from two major National Parks: the Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors, so whether you want to take in the sights of the city or relax in miles of natural beauty, you'll have no problem finding the perfect rental in Leeds.

Whether you're visiting with friends, family, or your special someone, take a peek at our collection of Leeds holiday cottages and discover hundreds of beautiful Leeds self-catering properties just waiting to welcome you home.

Why choose a Leeds weekend break or staycation?

Leeds is a treasure trove of hidden gems, fascinating history, brilliant shopping districts, world-class attractions and museums, and a bustling cultural scene.

This dynamic city blends tradition and history with a cosmopolitan vibe you will love, and our range of Leeds holiday cottages are the ideal accommodations to base yourself in, so you can experience it all.

The architecture in Leeds is not something to be ignored. Much of the city's architecture is from the Victorian era, and just walking around the city can feel like you've stepped back in time. One of our favourite buildings is the magnificent Leeds Town Hall, which was constructed as a symbol of the city's growing importance and wealth.

Before leaving the Town Hall, pop next door to the Leeds Art Gallery. The gallery is filled with a wide range of artwork and a gorgeous cafe that was once the main library reading room. It's a beautiful space to enjoy a well-earned cuppa and a slice of cake. For more art inspiration, head to the Henry Moore Institute and wander through galleries boasting work from the famous sculptor.

The Royal Armouries based in Leeds Docks is home to the UK's largest collection of armour, arms, and artillery, including Henry VIII's original armour. Don't miss the real-size elephant armour before you leave.

If you love shopping then you'll be spoilt for choice in Leeds. Briggate is the pedestrianised shopping area in the heart of the city. It's filled with street performers and yards and alleyways (known as the Backstreets) that look untouched by time. For more shopping, make sure the Victorian Arcades are on your itinerary. These four historical arcades are amazing to walk through and are a true architectural masterpiece.

No visit to Leeds would be complete without seeing Kirkgate Market, Europe's largest indoor market. This is the birthplace of Marks & Spencer, and the market offers a huge range of delicious foods, produce, and entertainment.

There are lots of fantastic bars and clubs if you fancy a wild night out on the town. It's a great city for a party weekend, and we love the range of quirky and contemporary rooftop bars where you can enjoy your favourite tipple and gaze out at views of the city.

It's not just city excitement that draws people to Leeds. The city is also filled with stunning gardens and parks when you need to take a break from seeing the sights.

We love the idyllic Roundhay Park and Temple Newsam to relax in. Or if you want to go slightly further afield, head to the picturesque Kirkstall Abbey. Sitting within easy reach of the city centre, the abbey is one of the most complete medieval 12th-century Cistercian Abbeys in the UK. It's the ideal place to wander around, take a breath, and enjoy a picnic.

With so much to see and do, you'll only wish your Leeds weekend break could last longer.

Find your dream Leeds holiday rental

No matter where you choose to stay in Leeds, you'll be able to make the most of the city's many attractions, including the Royal Armouries Museum and leafy Roundhay Park. Or, why not enjoy a day trip to Tudor-era Temple Newsam, handsome Harewood House or Kirkstall Abbey?

Browse stylish apartments in Leeds City Centre, cute and cosy cottages on the outskirts of the city, or pet-friendly holiday homes with a host of luxury features, from free WiFi and flat-screen TVs to bubbling hot tubs and heated swimming pools - just what you need after a busy day sightseeing.

Whatever requirements you have for your trip, just let us know and we can help pick the perfect holiday home that you and your favourite people will love.

Why book your Leeds accommodation with Snaptrip?

This place is an absolute gem!

Set in a quiet area within reach of a beautiful village, the barn has both a feel of a combination of an old style cottage but with a modern design. The interior is beautifully designed and is very spacious, which includes a snug area with a wood burner. The kitchen is modern and has everything you will need for preparing meals. On arrival, we found a gift basket that had numerous items (bread, bacon, butter, crisps, Prosecco, milk, eggs and Popcorn) which was a lovely touch. We only had one issue, which was we utilised the gift basket for our bread products only to find that we had had an overnight visitor which opened and pinched alot of the bread products, this wasn't a big deal for us as you are in the middle of fields so you expect that sort of thing. We did let the owners know but only for information. Luckily the weather was kind to us so we utilised the outdoor space and hot tub every day overlooking the beautiful views. Esholt itself is a loveley village, and we visited the Woolpack for evening meal which we enjoyed and is within walking distance. Cunliffe Barn was used as a base to explore the Yorkshire countryside. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable stay in a very quiet spot of Yorkshire!

Lovely semi-detached property in a pretty Yorkshire village, well equipped with all the things you need when away plus quite a few extras compared to places we have stayed before, i.

      E. plenty of toilet rolls provided, towels a generous size (if a little on the thin side), lots of books and games in the cupboard under the stairs if you are holidaying with a family, handwash for each sink, washing-up liquid and wash liquid also provided together with boutique tissues in the lounge. Chocolate biscuits and milk in the fridge was a nice touch. More than enough room for the two of us but possibly a little tight for a family with only a small lounge. Easily accessible private parking space at the front of the property and a secluded garden area for when the weather improves (it snowed when we were there!). Bedrooms a good size and only minimal noise from next door. Wifi worked well and we used our Netflix subscription on the television, which is a large size. Oven and washing machine both used and worked well. Only thing that would be an improvement would be the addition of a dishwasher in the kitchen - plenty of room and who wants to wash up by hand on holiday? All in all, a very pleasant stay and the icing on the cake -only 30 minutes from Leeds to visit family. We have booked to stay again in March!

Breakfast was not provided but not expected. The location was very good in a very pleasant village and a garden with superb views over the countryside. Nicely located for access to a local inn with good food. The ensuite walk in shower was unsafe, in that there was no shower mat and no grab handles. As the floor of the shower is perfectly smooth it was slippery when in use. Particularly so for older people. No shelving or racks to place soap and shampoo on, therefore it was necessary to put these on the floor and bend to access them. This also applied to the bathroom used by the adjacent bedroom. Furnishing, particularly the chairs in the dining room. The tub chairs required refurbishment and the dining chairs all required repair to the seats. It was frustrating to receive so much contact from the hosts via email and text. Hoping we were enjoying our stay and veiled threats about what must and must not be done.

The house was very nice and the village as well. You definitely need a car since there is nothing nearby except for the local pub. The TV was not working when we arrived but it was just a cable connection under a carpet that I could fix myself after some detective work. We didn't manage to get the towel dryers to work and couldn't find any book with instructions for the house. We found two Atlantic sender units where one needed new batteries but they were not connected to the towel rails as they should be or possibly there was no electricity to the towel rails at all. The kitchen was great with everything you needed and it was lovely to sit outside in the morning for breakfast when the sun was shining. Very good to have multiple bathrooms and the car parking.

We had such a wonderful stay in Kirkby Overblow. I knew the village well anyway but was blown away by how wonderful the cottage was. It was far more spacious than I expected (plenty of space for travel cot in the main bedroom) and everything was in immaculate condition. Despite the wet and miserable weather, the cottage was warm and cosy and delightful. We will definitely be back! Our 4 yr old twins are already asking when we can go back to our Yorkshire house ?! We also had a lovely family meal with cousins and grandparents at the shoulder of mutton, just next door! Playground in Kirkby Overblow also has the best views of any playground I’ve ever been to (… which is a lot!) - we spent almost a whole day there ?
