    Holiday Cottages in Canterbury

Canterbury is a cathedral city featured in the Canterbury Tales, famous for being a medieval pilgrimage site. It's a great location for history-lovers and you'll find other great historical buildings such as St Augustine's Abbey. Even the small boutique shops and cosy cafes are in wooden-framed buildings along cobblestoned streets.

We select all our Canterbury holiday cottages for their charm and character. For large groups we have spacious barn conversions or farmhouses with open-plan living areas, ideal for families. We also have dog-friendly cottages with great walking routes right on your doorstep. For something more private, try our secluded cabins with private hot tubs and open fireplaces.

At Snaptrip, we list thousands of UK holiday cottages. Canterbury is a great destination for enjoying the city sights, but you'll also find plenty to do outside the city, such as Belmont Gardens and Blean Woods. All our holiday cottages are backed by our best price guarantee, and our friendly customer service team is always on standby to help. Use our handy search filters to find great holiday cottages in Canterbury.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mr Trommelen - Verified booking

the cottage needs a thorough renovation, de kitchen is rundown, some doors of closets won't close, some of the cutlerie wasn't clean, there is no dishwasher, the washingmachine makes a lot of noise, in de bathroom some tiles are broken, the joints between the tiles are cracked and dirty, there are a lot of stains in the carpets througout the house, the chairs in de diningroom are full of staines, the couches are rundown and sagging, the traffic on the road is very loud, 24/7, stripes on the wall beside the stairs, the garden is overgrown, the gardenchairs and table have seen better days, de shed is a dump, dampspots on the wall of the bathroom. 2 stars, max, not 4 stars. Most importantly however is that the cottage was nog clean at all. It hadn't been vacumed for months, dustbunnies everywhere, windows were not clean. Very disappointing. Only positive is the 2 minute walk to the centre of Canterbury.

We had a wonderful holiday here, Thank You, and fortunately just before Covid-19 Lockdown in March 2020.

The property is very charming, nicely decorated and most importantly very clean and tidy, very well equipped, warm and peaceful, in fact all you could wish for from a holiday cottage. We especially liked the conservatory for meal times morning and evening. The property location was charming too, very near the railway, and with a few super friendly sheep a few doors down, to the right, to visit and fed was a bonus too, to any animal lover. It was really good to be so near the small train station and to be able to catch the train into Canterbury within 6 minutes, it really enhanced our holiday. The village is very small and peaceful, with a lovely riverside walk and green spaces, plus a small but adequate village shop. Thank you very much for the wonderful welcome basket too, full of lovely essentials and treats.

Gingerbread Cottage - The Perfect Stay!

We’ve stayed at several cottages, but none can compare to this one! A huge thank you and a virtual hug to Barbra, who made this the best Christmas we’ve had in ten years. After a busy work period that left us feeling like we wouldn’t celebrate, Barbra truly made us feel special. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed and more, including thoughtful little gifts waiting for us upon arrival. It was such a delightful surprise! From the moment we stepped in, we felt welcomed. The cottage was luxurious, immaculate, and inviting. Once again, a heartfelt thank you to Barbra for being the perfect host. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

We loved the welcome pack that Brionny had provided - those little extras are real treats.

The cottage was warm and cosy with books, dvds and games for those who want to chill out. The cottage is literally a minute away from the train station by foot but the trains did not disturb our break at all and, as I was working in Ashford, I could use the train and my husband had the car if he needed it. The bus stop is literally at the end of the drive so this is an ideal location if you want to soak up Kent without the hassle of driving. We have already booked again for March and will certainly use again, particularly if we are visiting in the autumn and winter. Lovely little place.

The flat was very nice, well equipped and very central for getting into Canterbury town itself and not far to Whitstable and Herne Bay.

Unfortunately the info given in the Sykes website was inaccurate regards parking - said the parking was paid , intimating there would be a permit inside the property to be placed in the car, however this was not the case and to find a space in the road was non existent and the local car park added a significant extra cost onto the rental. Also beware the property is above a laundrette which cranked up its extractor fan at 9am and turned it off at 6pm. Whilst this is not too much of an issue if you plan to be out all day, it is extremely noisy if you are not it.
