'The Cottage' is an excellent place to stay to explore the Ashdown Forest and the surrounding area. The owners have created an exceptionally well appointed retreat and supply a huge amount of items both in the kitchen and bathroom. The fixtures, fittings and appliances are all top quality. The hosts are on hand to give advice and recommendations of places to visit and answer any questions. From the first point of booking to returning home, they make their visitors feel extremely welcome.

A fabulously tastefully furnished cottage where the owner has put guest comfort and entertainment to the fore. High specification and a much welcome arrival hamper. Perfect location to explore the area. We very much appreciated the excellent pre-arrival contact, personal recommendations including amazing local eateries. Superb location for much needed relaxing. We were sad to leave but did so feeling energised! We would recommend without hesitation.

This was a very comfortable and cosy little cottage in a perfect location for walking in the Ashdown Forest. It was clean, well equipped and tastefully decorated. A special thank you to our exceptional hosts. They supplied the most generous 'welcome' pack of provisions we've ever come across, were helpful, friendly and thoughtful in their attention to detail. We would highly recommend a stay at The Garden Cottage.

    • Mr & Mrs Leony Steele - Verified booking

The property was lovely, it exceeded our expectations. Very tidy, comfortable and clean. The owners were amazing, called beforehand to make sure we could find them, checked if we had any dietary requirements as they left a very generous welcome package. Allowed us our privacy but highlighted how to find them if we needed anything during our stay and nothing seemed too much trouble. Lovely place to relax!

    • Confirmed Guest - Verified booking

We stayed here for four nights and used it as a great base to explore Sussex.... We spent a day in the cottage too and it was very comforting and cosy....Our favourite place (to eat) was a nearby Indian in Nutley – ‘Hathi’. All in all, a wonderful visit and we’re very thankful to our lovely hosts. They have been very welcoming and friendly which really makes a difference.
