What our customers say about their holidays

    • Vicky - Verified booking

We booked this as a last minute short break to visit family.

Nice location and holiday park; loved the pool on the one day it was sunny enough to use it! Let down by an overwhelming smell of damp throughout the property. The inside of drawers & cupboards smelt very strongly of damp, for example in the kitchen glasses had to be washed before using to get rid of the smell and I didn’t unpack as I didn’t want my clothes to smell of it. We did leave windows and doors open all time we were in, but it didn’t help. There were air fresheners but they just masked the smell and faded quickly. No extraction fans in bathroom or kitchen. Generally poor cleaning throughout, lots of dirt and dead bugs in corners, shower didn’t drain very well, clearly not been properly cleaned in a long time, this was the end of the school summer holidays. Beds were comfortable but let down by really cheap duvets and covers. There was a 2 seater sofa (not very comfortable) and 2 small armchairs, would be a real squeeze for 6 people. No hairdryer. Has everything else you’d need for a short break and would be lovely if cleaned and the damp sorted out.

We had a wonderful stay at Y Caban.

it was easy to find and plenty of space to park. Dave and Lynne were welcoming and considerate hosts, the Welsh themed basket upon arrival with treats for adults and kids and some basics like milk and butter, was a great touch especially after a long drive. Plenty of places nearby to visit, you're only a short drive to some popular spots like the sea zoo, local farms and Plas Newydd . They provided a travel cot on request and arranged the second room so it fit which made managing bedtime a lot easier with our youngest. The rooms are all furnished to a lovely standard, and the cabin is next to fields with sheep where the kids enjoyed spotting birds and rabbits during the day. The wetter weather meant we didn't get the chance to use the decking but it was warm and comfortable inside. Having a separate en-suite as well as a full size bathroom was a real bonus. We accidently left an item after our visit and they posted it back which was very kind. It was great accommodation and great hosts, would thoroughly recommend.

The location is fabulous, perfect setting on the river, the owners are lovely.

However, the hut itself could do with a really good clean, I had to clean the cupboards before I put our food in there, whilst it wasn't 'dirty' as such there certainly could have been an improvement on the cleanliness, that said the bedding & towels were spotless. The bed & sofa take over the inside & I think there could be better use/arrangement of the furniture inside, also, the bed itself is not very comfortable, it was ok for x2 nights. It's basically a mini caravan with a double bed & large sofa, it has got a chemical loo inside (which you have to empty yourself), there is a toilet & shower block near by, if you want a shower ensure you take 20p & £1 coins (£1 is approx. 2.5 minutes) I would imagine, in the height of summer (we stayed early November), with the great decking area over-looking the river, it would be lovely chilling out there outside after a lovely walk around the Welsh countryside..

This is such a great find, perfect for me and my dog.

Lovely tranquil spot and scenery, and location wise it couldn't be better (10mins to Llanberis, 10mins to Caernarfon, 10mins to Bangor, 20mins over to Anglesey). It had everything you need at an affordable price. Not sure why people have given a bad review, this is glamping, on a camp site, so yes there is a separate shower block, and you refill your water bottles yourself, but it's right there next to the sheppard hut. And the parking is literally a few steps from your door. It's all very convenient and to have the chemical toilet inside the hut is a huge bonus for needing a wee in the night, a lot of sheppard huts don't have that. I can't fault this place and had a wonderful stay and will definitely return. Can't believe that previous people complained. Stop being so miserable and enjoy this little gem of a place for an excellent price.

We had a lovely stay at Murmur Y Coed.

The lodge is beautifully styled and the beds were very comfy! The view from the decking of Eryri is stunning (when the clouds weren’t in the way). Having the beach and forest right on our doorstep was an added bonus. The space outside the lodge is a natural sandpit, so the kids loved playing outside when we were spending time in the lodge. The only caveat I would add is this place probably isn’t the best if you have a toddler. The beds are very high and there isn’t space in the bedrooms for a travel cot. Plus the walk to the beach involves climbing a stile and is very sandy, so not suitable for a buggy. Having said all that, we managed with a 1-and-a-half year old, 3 year old and 8 year old so it’s definitely doable! All in all, a great place to stay for our Anglesey holiday.
