What our customers say about their holidays

My Partner and I, along with my Elderly (Not So Mobile) Parents have just returned to the UK after a weeks stay at Elrove.

The location was perfect, the setting was perfect and the house itself was fantastic. Everything you need was avaialable, the owner Mary met us on arrival and she stayed in constant touch with me during our stay - and even though we never seen her again, it always felt like she was there (if that makes sense). Bedrooms are all large and spacious 2 downstairs with a large Shared Bathroom - ideal for my parents, and 2 upstairs with En-suite. Large kitchen, with Dishwasher and a utility room off this. Nice little snug area as well, and a comfy sized Lounge. My aprtner and I did swap bedrooms as one of the Mattresses was very soft, so we decided to use the other room, which had a mattress more to our liking (that is no a critisism, more personal choice). Huge garden at the back, and a good sized one at the frnt, you could park 10 cars at the front and back of the house - friendly cows in the Field next door, and Alfie the friendly neighbours dog. This has been one of the best properties myself and my partner have ever stayed in - you won't be dissapointed that i can assure you of. 2 minute drive from Wellington Bridge, which has a Small Supermarket, petrol Station, Chemist, Hairdressers and a couple of other shops - and a Pub, (Tir-Na-Nog) which does good meals. If you do stay in the Area, then you must visit 'The Hook' which is a Lighthouse and is a very popular area for visitors - spend a hour down there watching the Waves crash at the Rocks on a windy day, or the total serene tranquility on a calm day - if you are lucky you may spot the odd seal, bobbing about in the water. Elrove is great, and cant praise it enough 9.9 / 10 from me - Thank you Mary

      Overall everything was good.

The location was perfect we could walk to the beech. The disappointing thing for me was there was no hair dryer. We called the property manager to ask about one and she said she would bring us one the next day and then didn't. If she had just said the property doesn't have one then OK but because she said she would bring one and then didn't was disappointing. Some improvements that you could look at would be simple things like hangers for towels in the bathroom. Better facilities for drying clothes like a clothes line would have been great. Also the patio area could have looked nicer with flowers in the flower pots that were already there and a new patio set as some chairs were broken. Also as you are allowed to bring pets a secure garden would have been fantastic. These are just minor things and would have given the place a 5 star from me

Thank you so much for having us to stay at 83 Upper John Street, Wexford, Ireland.

I cannot fault the location of the property with its proximity to Main street, shops and places to eat and walk the dog. I really felt at home there by the end of the week. Also, the cost of the place was spot on, working out to be under £50pp/night. A couple of points if I may, the parking situation was a bit of a bother as we were coming and going a fair bit, maybe offer a weekly permit at a cost instead? The car park next to Jim McGees was good and always had spaces but took only coins and meant loading up the car was a bit of a pain. The location was spot on for us but not for the dog or it seemed the other dogs in the area so I would warn people of the sleep disruption (it said no loud music after 10pm in the info book but wouldn’t have mattered as half the dogs in the road and the pub closing meant we barely got any sleep anyway

Lovely grounds that were whimsical and fun to explore.

No view of the water from the home as implied, but there was a view from elsewhere on the grounds. One of the bathrooms had quite a few spiders and cobwebs, but the bigger issue were the windows which were not frosted, had only partial coverings made of lace, and looked directly into another home and could be seen from the courtyard and entryway of the home itself. Overall the home was a fun place to stay with a group and had lots of common areas to hangout, and the kitchen was nice. Accessing the home was easy, but heating is controlled remotely by the homeowner.

The owner is a genuinely sweet woman and very accommodating, but the property is outdated, in disrepair, unkept, dirty and generally unsuitable for a rental.

From the freezer door falling off in your hand every time it’s opened, disgusting mold in every bathroom, abundant spiders, hot water only available during specific times of day, no access to adjust the heat, to the confusing layout, including uneven floors, a single power outlet per room, spotty WIFI (at best) to the rooms added on over the years, skip this place ! There are too many other viable alternatives in the area. Rent at your own risk. Our family discussed leaving and asking for a refund, but decided to tough it out and stay.
