Have a Welsh adventure with Tenby holiday cottages

Miles of sandy beaches, historic landmarks, museums and picture-perfect buildings make Tenby a great place to visit for a long weekend or staycation in the UK.

Located in Pembrokeshire, West Wales, Tenby perfectly captures the very best of the Welsh coastline and offers so much to see and do. What better way to enjoy this picturesque part of the country than by staying in one of our beautiful Tenby holiday cottages?

Tenby holiday rentals are ideal if you're looking for something close to the beach and want all the convenience and comfort of your very own little hideaway. At Snaptrip, we have dozens of beautiful cottages to choose from, all waiting to welcome you home.

Why choose Tenby for your next holiday?

This idyllic Welsh town has been drawing in holidaymakers for over 200 years. The seafront is lined with pretty pastel-coloured houses, golden sand, boats lining the harbour, and water so blue you'd swear you were somewhere in the tropics!

The friendly and laidback vibe of the town makes it the perfect destination for a memorable family trip or a romantic getaway.

The town is lovely to walk around and boasts a long history. It has the oldest independent museum in Wales, castle ruins, Victorian townhouses, and a 500-year-old Tudor House. There are also lots of pretty shops and ice cream parlours that appear as if untouched by time.

There are three excellent sandy beaches, covering around 2.5 miles of coastline that are family-friendly and surprisingly uncrowded. These are some of the best beaches in the UK, such as the tropical-looking Barafundle Bay and the stunning Broad Haven South Beach. Tenby Beach was named Beach of the Year by The Sunday Times in 2019 and is simply breathtaking with a spectacular view of St. Catherine's Island.

The beaches are also Blue Flag certified, so you can enjoy a refreshing dip in the water before relaxing on the soft sand. Unlike many other seaside resorts, Tenby is relatively quiet so you'll have no trouble finding a spot to build a sandcastle.

While you might not want to drag yourself away from the picturesque views, when your tummies start rumbling, treat yourselves to some of Tenby's famous fish and chips. The town has a long history in the fishing industry and boasts countless places serving up some of the tastiest fish and catches of the day you will ever try.

As well as its long history as a seaside holiday destination, Tenby also has a considerable fishing heritage. Mackerel fishermen still set out from the harbour daily and you can even join them by booking a trip with one of the fishing boat operators, and catch your own dinner! Boat excursions head out to nearby Caldey Island, a beautiful holy island run by Cistercian monks, where you'll find a tranquil strip of sand that's even more peaceful than the mainland.

Tenby is surrounded by Pembrokeshire National Park, which has 300km of stunning nature reserves to explore. If you're travelling with little ones, you won't be short of things to do. There are several top family-friendly attractions in the area, including Folly Farm, Manor House Wildlife Park, Heatherton World of Adventure, and Oakwood Theme Park.

With so much to see and do, you'll only wish you booked your Tenby accommodation for longer.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Karen - Verified booking

The cottage is set in a quiet cul-de-sac and perfectly positioned for Saundersfoot and Tenby.

It is an ideal size for 2-4 people and of course dog friendly. The welcome pack of milk, biscuits and chocolate was much appreciated. The potential for it being an ideal holiday home is great. the seaside decor and pictures etc are wonderful. There were plenty of towels provided. However there were several things which were very disappointing for the price we paid. The double bedroom bed linen was old and bobbly and smelt sour. The fitted sheet did not stretch over the mattress fully and came half way down the sides. We didn't use the double bed but I am sure the bottom sheet would have been in a heap in the middle by morning. The light switch in the double bedroom was broken. There was a table lamp. The ceiling light socket was broken in the twin bedroom but again there was a table lamp. The bed linen in there was really nice. The shower head would not stay up and repeatedly flopped down so that the shower ran down the corner of the bath and not into the bath to enable standing under it. The sofa in the lounge was so worn and uncomfortable and seemed to be missing the original back cushions. There were several scatter cushions but it was not possible to sit back comfortably and have your legs bent and feet on the floor. The vertical blinds on the lounge window were broken. We were not able to recycle as the bags did not seem to correlate with the list in the kitchen. There was one black bin bag in the kitchen bin. The outside bin and recycling boxes and bags had been put as a sort of barricade at the bottom of the steps up to the washing line, presumably by a previous guest. This may possibly have been because the back top fence of the garden had a slat of the fence which had come out and was lying on the floor. The gap was wide enough for our little dog to get through but we watched him when he was in the garden and didn't let him go up there. There were no dog hairs or signs of a dog being there which was very good. The cottage could be really good with some TLC and freshening up and maintenance on the broken items.

We stayed at this property 3 weeks ago and it was a great location with everything you could need near by.

Although the property is located on a cul-de-sac it was extremely quiet and having been there for bonfire night, not many fireworks. There is one parking space outside the property but it did state in the welcome pack that parking is based on a first come first served basis. The house was warm and comfortable but we did find a few issues. The double bedroom carpet had stains on it and the mattress protector was heavily stained brown and upon further inspection found the fitted sheet to have similar stains although not as much. Because of this I had to remove them both and buy a new fitted sheet to sleep on. In the twin bedroom you were unable to use the bedside lamp unless you used the extension lead from the Double bedroom to plug it in which meant you could not use the tv As we had to move the bedside table to gain access to the plug socket by moving one of the beds, we found a big orange mark on the floor under the table and the same colour splash marks up the skirting board. My Mum found the fitted sheet on one of the single beds did not fit properly so when she got in to bed the sheet rode up and was uncomfortable to sleep on and the duvet seemed to small as it did not fit over the sides of the bed, and because we went in the winter my Mum found it difficult to keep warm. The hot water only seemed to be available at a set time in the morning and on an evening so if you decided to have a bath or shower later in the evening the water was lukewarm so it would have been handy to know the cut off times. The shower head can be difficult to use if you are a tall person like myself as I found it to be too low down on the wall. We found there was no mop or bucket to be able to clean the floors downstairs so when it had been raining the floors got wet which made it easy to slip for both ourselves and our dogs. Unfortunately because of the issues we found we would not stay at this property again.

On arrival we were surprised that there wasn’t much privacy.

Not only were there neighbours at the front of the property but in the picture the back looked private but it didn’t show that there was a path to Poppy Cottage running down the side, so when having a drink or food people staying in Poppy cottage would be walking passed, also Poppy cottage had an outdoor cinema, hot tub and bbq in their outside space so when they were outside their noise carried into Love cottage’s outdoor space and into the property too, so no matter where you sat for a quiet drink or food you had neighbours at the front and heard/saw neighbours at the back too. The pictures showed Love cottage as adjoined to the Farmhouse and a lawn surrounding them but in fact outside Love cottage’s bedroom window were the car parking for the Farmhouse,Love cottage and Poppy cottage so when in bed on a morning if any of the neighbours went out you heard them walking past and getting in their cars, not ideal for a lie in. The fridge inside at the back was all frozen up so wasn’t working properly and the extraction fan also didn’t work, there was a big ball of fluff/dust on some coasters by the tv and quite a lot of spiders and spiderwebs to many to say it’s because it close to trees. While the cottage was a nice little place it was the surroundings that let it down. We booked it from looking at the pictures of how tranquil it looked but the photos were obviously photoshopped. They don’t show the other 4 dwellings attached to the Farmhouse or the said pathway to Poppy Cottage and parking bays. Wouldn’t have booked it if the pictures and descriptions were correct. Shame cause the cottage was nice. Oh and a curtain or blinds up the front door would be good because at night when the lights are on the neighbours can see right in and watch you going to the loo and bedroom, not good when coming out of the bathroom after a shower to go the bedroom draped in just a towel.

I don't nomally do negative reviews however i feel this one is needed.

We recently stayed at this property and was really dissapointed as the listing didn't fully reflect the propoerty, there is so much potential, the beach theme decor was nice, the house is a good size and a good location however there are a number of issues which let this property down. Door Handle was coming off the patio door Faulty light switch in the main double bedroom Mould growing in the living room/dining area Chair fabric coming off the dining chairs Dirty curtains in the living room Dirty cushions in the living room Patio is heavily moss covered and extremely slippy Patio furniture rusty and covered in moss & unusable Unwelcoming bright yellow signage on entering the property & considering it is a dog friendly property this didn't really feel welcoming. A Ring door bell on the property, not advertised on the listing & made us feel very uncomfortable throughout the stay especially as it lit up everytime we entered and left the house, which meant the owners were watching us on live view everytime. 1 day into the holiday, someone was banging on the door at 9am asking whether we are vacating. No blind or curtain on the landing window 4 light bulbs not working in the living room Considering the cost of this property especially in peak season i would expect there to be minimal issues. There was to much to raise during our stay and we didn't want to spend the week waiting for repairs etc to be made as it would have caused a major distruption to our break so we raised them at the end of our holiday. Unfortunately as the owners are unwilling to discuss the issues so this is not a property we would be looking to book again.

The property was in a great location and ideal for a Saundersfoot staycation.

It was clean, tidy and had ample space. HOWEVER, we booked the dog friendly accommodation because it seemed safe and secure for a dog. This was not the case, we were phoned on the day of our arrival by the owners stating that the garden gate was broken and they had only just been made aware of the issue and informed us that we could prop items against it to prevent our dog escaping. They stated that the workmen would be coming Monday (during our stay) to fix the issue. They seemed nice enough on the phone and these things happen so all I asked for was to be told roughly when the workmen were coming to fix the gate and to be kept updated with any changes. On arrival, the gate was completely off it’s hinges so rather than lean things against it we essentially had to block off the area with bins etc. We then looked in the visitors book only to find the broken gate had already been mentioned as an issue by visitors months previously. On Monday when it was supposed to be fixed and us informed of a time for the same, we received no contact and nobody arrived. Spent the whole time at the accommodation watching the dog between the unsecured fence, rubble in the garden etc. Very disappointed as just wanted to relax knowing the dog was safe. The house was let down by the garden and lack of communication from the owners.
