"The bungalow was not clean when we arrived and looked as though it had not been thoroughly cleaned for some time. Quilt on double bed was not big enough to make sleeping comfortable and warm; quality of bedding very worn. Shower in bathroom outdated; shower head far too high& not adjustable; when shower was running in bathroom temperature could be dangerously hot if someone turned on tap at wash hand basin. Toilet seat not secure so using toilet was uncomfortable. No hand rail to assist in getting in/out of bath. No plug for electric razor. No shelf for toiletries. No light above bathroom mirror. Kitchen short of condiments ie. salt, pepper, vinegar - if you arrive late and want to cook a meal, if would be helpful to have those to use. No where to hang dresses or trousers as all cupboard loaded at bottom with spare bed clothes. Neither bedside lamps worked in the main bedroom - one needed a new bulb and the other just wouldn't work. Good idea to say torches in cupboard that we could use - but batteries dead. Looks good leaving a bottle of wine, but better spend money on a washing up liquid and a decent dishcloth - certainly we would have appreciated that far more. Will stop here, but most or the reasons that we would not return. Suffolk as a county is lovely, though."

"The Loft was clean and comfortable and well-equipped. The only issues we had were with the lack of cooking and preparation space, the "kitchen in a cupboard" came as a bit of a surprise, even though we knew what was on offer in terms of electric rings, microwave grill etc. Just about everything else though had been thought of.Wi-Fi is advertised but need to be aware that this was very sporadic and far from reliable. Feel it should be advertised as such to reflect the level of availability.Nice touches on arrival with eggs from own hens, bottle of wine and pack of macaroons. Felt that we were left to find things out for ourselves re equipment usage or availability, a couple of things we asked on arrival were met with "there's instructions in here somewhere". As this is the first time in over 20 years we have gone for a self-catering option in UK, maybe we are out of practice ourselves!Little negative about the property, just the couple of issues that we felt could have made it better.Be careful on steps up to Loft when wet."

"This was the second time we have stayed at this cottage after we really enjoyed the tranquility the cottage gave us on our first visit. Unfortunately this was not to be for the last two days of our stay there this year, the stay was not peaceful. The owners were on holiday and at the end of week the delightful house sitter left to be replaced by the owners' offspring and a group of his friends. They had no thoughts towards the paying guests in both cottages and proceeded to party during the day and into the early hours of both nights. We and the guests in the other cottage did not feel secure in confronting a group of drunken students to complain about the noise so had to endure the cacophony of noise. We shall not return to this cottage again"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lodge. We arrived to a bottle of wine, fresh eggs from the owners hens and some delicious biscuits. It was an incredibly professional set up. Although appointed in close proximity to the owners house, you feel totally unaware that they are there as they are true professionals and leave you to your own devices, but are willing to assist on restaurant choices etc should you need it. the Lodge was clean, comfortable and had everything you could need for a break in the country. I would recommend lunch or dinner at the Dark Horse, it is a unique setting with personable service and incredibly delicious food! we would definitely go back to the Lodge and have already recommended it to friends. Sept 2011. "

"We booked for Christmas and Fairy Cottage proved to be exactly what we wanted. Comfortable, warm, cosy with a well equipped kitchen and a light and spacious sitting room. We brought our dog with us and the cottage was perfect for him with easy to clean flooring in all but the bedrooms and plenty of space to set up his crate. The location is ideal for lots of dog walks and the Kings Arms pub in Haughley, a couple of miles away, is very cosy and dog (and human) friendly . The cottage owner was very friendly and helpful. There was a tea tray and chocolate biscuits waiting for us on arrival and after a 3 hour journey this was very welcome. We would happily book again and highly recommend Fairy Cottage."
