"The cottage is in a great location, ideal for the coasatal path and close to Anstruther and St Andrews. On first inspection, everything looked good. A nice big kitchen with separate dining area and also a dining room. The lounge was a good size and the furniture comfy. The bedrooms looked fresh and clean as did the batheroom and shower room. Some areas looked fairly recently done. The garden is a great size and we were lucky with the weather so were able to take full advantage of the outside seating. However, the following points need to be made:Very dirty windows, inside and out (I know there was a bad srorm but they should have been cleaned as it did not look good for clients),cupboard door broken in upstairs bedroom, elecrtic shower in twin bedded room very innadequate, shower hose in bathroom very dirty, skirt left in wardrobe in front bedroom, springs coming through single bed downstaird, single bed against the radiator dangerous, especially if children are in there, widow sills and picture frames dusty, a large quantity of beer bottles left at the bins, two drawers stuck open in kitchen dining area a hazard. However, the location is so great that we would stay agin even though thar single bed(downstairs) was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. Time to renew the mattress?"

"Spotlessly clean. More spacious than it looks. Comfortable (although as restless sleepers we would have preferred / slept better in a king sized bed). Large enclosed garden was perfect for our dog, who thankfully didn't bark when horses went past. It would have been helpful to have a map of the local area with walks marked (there were some notes in the visitors welcome book but it wasn't clear if you could walk on the estate itself). As you leave the private road for which the cottage was gatehouse, turn right and walk for just a few minutes to get to quiet woodland walks opposite and behind the white church. Saw deer, rabbits, hares and what I think were buzzards. Didn't see sheep or cows near the cottage but don't know if animals are moved around the farm. A little unusual to be left a delicious lemon drizzle cake, and flowers from the garden, instead of the usual basics of bread and milk but not complaining! There is a shop in the village close by - a 10-15 min walk. Shower noisy but worked fine, not just a trickle - though water takes a while to drain. Wifi worked too and, thankfully, so did the TV, with just a bit of occasional picture disturbance (critically, nothing to spoil my partner's enjoyment of the World Cup!). We would certainly recommend it and hope to stay here again."

"The accommodation was lovely very clean and tidy and it suited my mum who walks with a stick as everything was on the flat. It was very quiet which was great. It was great that we were in a lodge that didn’t take pets there was no animal smell which has put us off in the past at other places. It was our daughter 7th birthday while we were on holiday. The things that the accommodation lacked were-- a cafetière (we had to buy one) we have always had these in other places we have stayed in it’s not something you would carry with you on holiday- There was no tea, coffee, sugar or milk portions so we could have a cuppa when we arrived- There were no oven gloves or dish towels in the kitchen- There were no scissors in the kitchen- There were no baking trays to cook withWe had young children with us so cooked in the lodge most nights."

"Fernwoodlea is an old gate house cottage in a quiet location in the Fife countryside, but only a 10 mins walk to the nearest village with shops. We chose it for its location and because they allowed a dog to stay for our 2 week booking. We arrived in wintery conditions, snow on the ground and very cold. Unfortunately the heating was not on, it took 24 hours to warm the old cottage. There was a very nice homemade baked lemon drizzle cake along with bread, tea and coffee to welcome us. The log burning stove in the sitting room was lovely and cosy, with plenty of logs in the outdoor store to burn. The washing machine was very helpful during our 2 week stay, and an iron was provided but no ironing board? We enjoyed walks with Sebastian our standard poodle on the farm area and surrounding woods."

"We had the pleasure to be the very first guests in the recently modernised apartment. Everything was new. A number of items were missing. We immediately adressed those things with the landlord and he sorted it all out in a quick manner. The apartments in the Courtyard are best for visitors that intend to explore Scotland by train. Inverkeithing railway station is situated within walking distance and offers frequent train connections (Edinburgh is served every 15 mins in a 22 minute journey). We made excursions to Dundee, St. Andrews, Pitlochry, Perth, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Our first floor apartment had three windows out onto the High Street, which offers an interesting view. Landlord and his house keeping team are very friendly helpful."
