What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mr Pearce - Verified booking

A real gem of a one-storey small cottage for a couple with off-road parking outside. Well designed, well equipped with good wi-fi communications and a private outside courtyard and perfectly located by the village green, a beautiful and historic parish church, an old oast house and a very good gastropub called The Red Lion (30 metres walk). You can park up, enjoy the warm comfortable cottage and simply walk for miles through the rolling hills of Kent's orchards and woodlands and enjoy lunch in Hernhill or the nearby villages of Dargate (The Dove is an A++ gastropub with excellent food and wine) and Staplestreet (The Three Horseshoes offers great value in a traditional pub and Mount Ephraim house and gardens are 400 metres walk from the pub). We hope to return soon.

What can we say? We had a fab time, well located for getting to various places, the cottage was/is dog friendly, they even had food bowls for your dog. The owners live nearby, his property is lovely, and you definitely get a lot for your money, everything you need from a bottle opener to an ice tray, washer/dryer absolutely everything you need. Had a fab time and would recommend it without even having to think about it,.It’s suitable not for just dog owners, but also couples, but as the listing says not a child appropriate place, baby in a cot possibly but not older than that. But would give it 11 out of 10 stunning area stunning cottage with lovely hosts.

      What a gem.

We were looking for a base for a week in Kent and The View was perfect. Easy to find and with good transport links deeper into the county this was ideal for our needs. The setting is great with far reaching views over fields. The property was clean and well maintained with everything we needed for our stay. All the furniture is comfortable and the bed gave us the best sleep we've ever experienced in a holiday cottage. The owners are very friendly but don't intrude unless approached and when we raised one (very minor) issue it was resolved immediately. We'd definitely like to return and spend more time at The View.

From the moment we arrived to the minute we left nothing was too much trouble for the owners. We were greeted and welcomed on arrival and were immediately pleased with the standard and quality of the accommodation and the contents including in the kitchen. It was all pristine and reassuringly clean. The location is perfect in a picturesque Kentish village; charming properties, farms and orchards, church, village pub/restaurant, Oast house all visible and within 100 yards. Situation perfect as the resorts are all within easy driving distance. We fell in love with this area and hope to return one day.

The cottage has been beautifully converted, decorated and appointed and is very comfortable to stay in.

It has everything one needs for a holiday, although manuals for the oven and dishwasher would have been helpful for us older less techie types! The bed is extremely comfortable, there were plenty of lovely towels and we appreciated the recycling bin and the classy bathroom toiletries. The road noise would I think spoil use of the outside space, but as it was October and the noise was barely audible inside, this wasn't a problem for us. Faversham is a very attractive town and it was a great base for us to visit family in Dartford and local attractions by train as well as car.
