What our customers say about their holidays

I had a wonderful 28-day stay in this beautifully set and thoughtfully designed property. It had absolutely everything you could need for a comfortable, relaxing break. One of my favourite daily rituals was watching the sunrise at 6.30am, coffee in hand, as the frosty morning mist lifted to the sound of birdsong – pretty special (see video). It was incredibly peaceful – the perfect place to focus and get work done, and relax after a stressful period. The shower pressure was brilliant, the bed super comfortable, and the whole place was spotless. I loved lighting the stove burner while cooking a Sunday roast, listening to a favourite podcast as pheasants and rabbits foraged on the front lawn. The blossom tree in the cottage garden was just coming into full bloom while I was there which was an unexpected joy.Jessica and Peter were fantastic hosts, and Lucy the cleaner did a great job each week – the fresh flowers she left were a thoughtful, welcoming detail. There are stunning walks from the doorstep, and Sudbury is only a short drive away. I genuinely can’t think of a single negative… other than wishing I could have stayed longer!A big thank you for making my stay so seamless and comfortable.

The cottage was lovely and a good size for our party of six.

It was spoilt by some of the issues we had. No instructions for putting out the waste or recycling. We stacked our waste at the rear of the garage along with previous waste that had not been disposed of. It was very smelly and an obvious health hazard. Packet of rolls with a 2023 date on found in back of cupboard. The floors in the showers and in the bath were very slippery when wet. Bath mats or anti slip system would solve this. There was mould on the ceiling in the ensuite bathroom and adjacent bedroom. More saucepans of various sizes needed. Helpful, easy to read advice on how to use microwave , oven etc, Used sanitary items left in bedroom bin. Single toilet seat cracked and stained. Not able to use outside seating area as it needed cleaning to get rid of green algae. Because the front door is very stiff to open and close handles would be very helpful. The keybox was very hard to find on arrival and so low down was difficult to use. Instructions on where it was located would be useful.

This property is exceptional. It is located in Little Henny, a very small village right in the beautiful, bucolic Essex countryside. The cottage has a small, tastefully landscaped garden. There is a large forested area that starts at the bottom of the garden. There are a several country hikes that start near the cottage. The interior of the cottage is modern, clean and spacious. Everything is new, and , again , tastefully chosen. The bathroom has a clawed bathtub , and a new, modern shower. The bedroom is located on the upper floor, and is comfortable and bright. All of the appliances and kitchenware are high quality. The host Jessica was pleasant to interact with, and and efficiant in responses. Based on my experience with similar rentals, this place is a bargain and I highly recommend it.

We loved the cottage. It was bright and perfectly furnished and very comfortable. We loved the wall -charging torches and have ordered some to have at home. We appreciated having a bath and a walk in shower. We weren't sure how to access the wifi and the link answered our phone query. We felt the key placement was not easy for oldies like us and had we arrived in the dark, it would have been very difficult to access. The height of the hood over the hob meant that we bumped our heads and felt that was a bit dangerous. But neither the key placement nor the hood level spoiled our holiday in any way. The location was perfection for us. We loved being in easy access to so many towns and villages and houses of interest.

      Superb cottage.

Very comfortable. Great location with a view of the river from the living room and bedroom. Loved the real fire. The welcome pack was a nice touch and very tasty. Stuart - the host - was very helpful with advice on what to do in the area and had some great suggestions. Manningtree is a nice little town with decent pub, coffee shops, restaurants, a small Tesco and a large Coop all in walking distance. The cheese stand on the Saturday market is worth a visit. And the walk along the estuary has amazing views.
