"Whilst the location is excellent the condition of the apartment is tired. There is peeling paint and the veranda door could not be opened fully. Only 1 door of the folding doors could be used. The bed linen was clean but the pillows were very very thin and old. The towels were thin.In the kitchen all the welcome goodies such as the milk, bread, butter and biscuits were well received but it would have been nice to have wifi access. In these times the internet is used to explore local activities. Having said that there was an enormous pile of leaflets of local interests that dated from 4 years previously. There was no instruction manual on garbage or use of the light switches. There was a drawer with all the manufacturers instructions for the washing machine and dryer. There was no hair dryer which is a basic amenity that would have been appreciated by this international visitor. The furniture in the lounge room consisted of 3 IKEA arm chairs and an ergonomic recliner. There was a table and 4 chairs. There was no where to sit together on a couch to watch TV or movie. There was no instruction about what to do with the keys when departing. In summary the photos of the apartment look lovely but were obviously taken a few years ago. The location is fabulous."

"The cottage is lovely and it felt spacious. The outside space was a good size, though some sun loungers would have been welcome. My double bed on the first floor was very comfortable unlike the twin beds and their lumpy mattresses. I also didn't like having to go downstairs if I needed the toilet during the night. I will definitely bear this in mind for any future bookings. The house is in a fantastic location just a short walk to the sea and all the lovely shops. It was great to have some milk on our arrival and although the wine was appreciated, I think the money spent would be better used on toilet rolls and rubbish bags. For the amount charged for a week providing 1.5 toilet rolls for 2 toilets and 5 people staying for a week is very stingy and no spare rubbish bags! Although there were plenty of compost bags. All other cottages I have stayed in with Welcome have had more than enough of both. Despite these niggles, we had a great time in Whitstable and found plenty to do. My granddaughter was very happy with the toys provided and the outdoor space was great for her and our dog to run around in. Nice and safe for them both. Another plus is although a very central location it was lovely and peaceful at night time."

"This was our second visit to Bay Crest, and we enjoyed it as much as we did the first time. The cottage is very spacious and comfortable, with 2 smaller seated areas in addition to the large central seated area, with room for everyone to relax. The kitchen is large and well equipped, with a five-ring gas hob if you want to cook. We parked on the road outside the property as there are no parking restrictions. There is a raised deck in the back garden which we used, as the weather was sunny the whole time. The front and back gardens are well kept with flowers and are nice to look out onto. The high street is a 15-minute walk away, so it's easy to buy food if necessary, and the train station is just down the road if you want to visit Canterbury or nip into London for the day. We enjoyed our visit very much and would certainly return to Bay Crest in the future."

"We had a really lovely stay at Gorewell. The location is fantastic, in the countryside on the North Downs but only 6 miles or so from Canterbury. We enjoyed country walks centred round the picturesque village of Chilham, which is a bit over a mile down the hill from Gorewell; Canterbury is close and the park-and-ride system solves the problem of parking (or it's possible to go by train from Chilham); and we drove to other places in Kent. There are at least two really nice spots for lunch or cream tea within comfortable walking distance, and there is a pub in the village (but we didn't try it). The accommodation itself is comfortable, tastefully furnished, and it has all the things you would expect. However, if you want nightlife, clubs and shows, then Gorewell probably wouldn't be for you."
