"Good wee cottage that is a little bit bigger than it looks in photos. We thought it might feel a bit 'hemmed in' at the rear but the patio area was very nice with good quality picnic table/bench. We expected very poor weather but had a few nice days. Although the kitchen is small it was fine for cooking and eating in, especially as there were only two of us. Slight issue with the fridge storage but it worked OK and we managed fine. I understand from the owner a previous guest broke the door shelf in the fridge and the fridge will have to be replaced. As the owner points out, the stairs are definitely not for anyone with mobility problems and I would be concerned about younger children as I saw no stair gate. On a personal level, I would have liked a small wardrobe to hang clothes in and a chest of drawers in the main bedroom rather than under bed drawers. I think if I was the owner I would use the under bed drawers for linen storage rather than the wooden chests (nice though they are), and I would have at least one chest of drawers for guests in the main bedroom. As there were only the two of us we used the drawers in the bunk room and hung shirts on the bunk beds. On our return home I contacted the owner with some info re a building matter and received a very pleasant reply thanking me for the effort. We are familiar with the area and can recommend the location for visiting the East Neuk, St Andrews and also Dundee (about an hours' drive away). My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Kingfisher Cottage and we would recommend it to friends and family we felt it would suit. Hopefully we will be able to return again in the future."

"A stunning cottage very sympathetically renovated and furnished to keep the best of the period features but also provide every modern convenience. Indoors, every room is high ceiling-ed and spacious. The owners (who live across the road) are very helpful and kindly provide all manner of luxuries such as guest soaps, shampoo, body lotion and a 'welcome pack' that includes very delicious home made biscuits! The beds are delightfully comfortable and the pillows are to die for - I wanted to bring them home!! There is also a stunning view from the larger bedroom's window. If I *had* to level a single down side it would simply be the traffic outside, which is much heavier than you would expect from such narrow lanes - but it's livable with. For those like me with walking difficulties, there is a ramp to the rear door (be advised though that there is a small lip at the threshold). Doors are adequately wide enough to take a wheelchair or walking frame. However, the beautiful bathroom is not suitable for a wheelchair user at the time of writing."

"This is a new property available for rental and is situated in the small village of Dysart. Short walks from the property (which takes dogs as well) can take in the harbour and the local park and if you fancy a longer walk, the Fife Coastal Path can be joined in a few minutes. As a centre for exploring it is ideal and the East Neuk with its small picturesque villages is easily accessible, as is Edinburgh. (30-40 minutes away). The cottage contains everything you will require and the owners are only minutes away to deal with any questions. An excellent cottage and indeed several people, when we returned home, have indicated that they will look into using the cottage in 2016."

"Excellent accommodation, very comfortable and clean with everything thought of from welcome pack to information folder, there was even a welcome pack for our dog. We also had a bulb which blew one night and fused the lights but the information pack allowed us to find the box to renew the power supply and when I phoned in the morning to report the incident so that they were aware that the bulb would need changed when the house was cleaned for the next guests Tim came to fix it within 1hr. The only minus was the lack of parking, otherwise I would have given the property an all round 5 ?. It is perfect if you do not have a car."

"This is an excellent cottage, perfect for up to four people. It's location in the East Neuk of Fife is ideal to visit many nearby towns and villages. There are plenty of things to do. Walking on the Fife Coastal Path which passes by the front door of the cottage is superb in either direction. There are many opportunities to eat well in Pittenweem and anywhere else around the town. Also there is so much scope for photographers. We loved the Isle of May boat trip, quite a dramatic place to visit. All in all a superb holiday."
