We were extremely pleased with our stay at the Laurels flat.
We were warmly greeted by our host, Julie, who was happy to help with making sure our stay was enjoyable. The accommodation was first class, and had everything that we needed. The living/sleeping room was light and specious (with a special shout out for the amazingly huge and comfy bed!) The kitchen was roomy and well equipped with everything we need for our weeks stay, and the shower room brand new with plenty of towels etc. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. As with most properties, when quiet, it was sometimes possible to hear other residents walking around above or running water, but this did not disturb us. An important plus is the flat's position as it is so convenient for travelling into Cardiff, or travelling further afield - perfect for all major routes. The wonderful St Fagans museum is literally a few steps away. Although situated next to a busy road, we were not affected by traffic noise at all. We will definitely be looking to book again when we are next in South Wales. All-round, an excellent gem of a find on Sykes' page, and well recommended.

This is a beautiful property with the most wonderful owners. Though we were unprepared for how rural it is and the tough driving for those of us used to the city, the country setting is nothing short of amazing. It's close to Cardiff but feels a world away. And they have the most wonderful dogs, whom our two boys played with every day. This is a gem in the Welsh countryside. Dunraven Bay (about 30 minute drive) is a must. It's in the town of Southerdown, and is possibly the most beautiful beach we've ever seen; Cardiff Castle; the local town of Cowbridge for shops and a great kids play area; St. Fagan's Museum of Welsh Life is a must; Cardiff Bay for a lovely day of eating and strolling (and check out the Dr. Who Experience if you're a fan). We had a truly terrific holiday!

Lovely peaceful location with good views across the garden, pond and fields beyond from the large windows across the kitchen. Loved watching the 7 geese and 4 goslings parade around the pond and the racehorses being exercised. Very comfortable with everything needed for a self catering holiday, well prepared and very clean.Easy access to Cardiff, Dyffryn( N,T) and the wonderful Museum of Welsh life and several beaches.Unfortunately the village shop and post office no longer open but a large super market easily reached about 3 moles way.Very friendly and helpful owner. We will certainly return in the future.

We had 5 wonderful days in this lovely new flat (we were the first guests).
The big and bright bedroom with sitting area has a very comfortable Super King bed. The kitchenette had everything we needed and the new shower room has got a really good shower. The heating in all rooms worked very well and reacted quickly. We could park our car in the court yard. The flat is next to the rear entrance of St. Fagans Museum of National History â a must when you stay in The Laurels Flat. We used the excellent location for visits to the Vale and to Cardiff. Thank you Julie for being such a welcoming and friendly host and for the welcome pack. We certainly will come back.

This is not a five star property. Beautiful location with easy parking. Bright and usable kitchen area . Nice dining area, though chairs were replaced during our stay. Excellent television, but the sofas/ settees had a tear in the covering, and were worn and very uncomfortable. Bedrooms were well-furnished, though, beds were not entirely comfortable for us . Black mould in the shower rooms needed attention, but there was ample hot water and nice towels . Yet, we enjoyed the locality and its many interesting attractions.
