"we stayed here for our honeymoon! we set off late afternoon so as we were driving into wales it was pitch black! little did we know what we were driving through! we moved in by torch light and un packed! we decided we would order a pizza haha little chance of that as all the takeaways shut at 9.30pm so had to settle for champagne that the owners had left us, when we woke up the next morning i stuck my head out the sky window and nearly fell off the bed! the views were absolutly amazing!!! mountains and fantastic scenery everywhere i looked. there is no where on this earth i would have rather woke up that morning. there is also a little train that runs past the cottage just 6 foot away from the door that toots its horn when it passes, it was like something you only read about in books! over the week we went down the slate mines, climbed snowdon, went to bangor, went to llandudno, climbed another mountain, this was my favourite, every corner we walked around gave us another fantastic view and there were ruins everywhere, old slate cottages still stand as though the people had just upped and left everything as it was, fireplaces still in tact etc, we couldnt believe what we were seeing, we will never forget our honeymoon and i would recomend this cottage without a doubt"

"Two adults stayed for a week with our eleven and nine year old children plus the family dog - everybody had a fantastic week. The cottage was very comfortable, clean and well equipped with everything we needed for a great holiday. Permanent car parking was not available at the cottage (access only) but parking close by on the street presented no problems whatsoever. The cottage is a great base to explore the local hills and we found the abandoned slate mines fascinating. There are loads of small paths and by-ways which it was fun to explore. There are plenty of shops and eateries only a few minutes drive (or train ride!) away in Blaenau Ffestiniog. There is a pub approx 10 mins walk and a great cafe close to the power station, again a ten minute walk. This is also a great location for looking around North Wales - Harlech Castle only half an hour's car ride, we also had a day out on the train to Portmadog and passed within an arm's length of the cottage."

"We stayed here for a week in February with all our family - 8 adults, 7 children and a dog, there was plenty of space for everyone. It was cold and snowy whilst we were at the house but it was kept beautifully warm at all times. There was plenty of coal and wood for the log burner and in the kitchen diner there is an additional gas fire. The two big living rooms were a great asset with plenty of comfortable chairs and large televisions. Although the table only seated 10 there was a small additional table and extra chairs so the little ones could have their own table. A good washing machine, tumble drier and dishwasher all made life easy for us. There was plenty of parking for our 4 cars and there is a good patio area with gate so safe for the children to play outside. Our overall impression of the house was very positive and would visit again."

"It's one of a kind, you really do feel like you're staying somewhere special. Loved the fact that there were 3 bathrooms, that it was clean and when we had a chill night there was Netflix! Not to mention it was close to a lot of places we wanted to explore 30-40mins drive. However if you're going with 4+ adults, someone is gunna have to take the room with the children's bunk bed. We also found that the light doesn't work in that same room and also we tried to find the iron and hairdryer but it we weren't sure where they were. A lot of little things were missing like dishwasher tablets and washing powder but there is literally a small shop just a minute away to grab the essentials. Which we left there for the next group to use.All in all we really loved our stay, it was big enough that we felt like we had our own space. Thank you for having us!"

"Such a fabulous cottage, had all the space we needed for 15 people and 1 dog :-)There were smells of damp throughout the house and also there are two massive freezers and one massive fridge, we felt it would make more sense to have two fridges and one freezer? On the first night a man told 3 of my friends off for the security light waking up people on the camp site, it was labelled the smoking area and we were not told of there being a curfew so this came as a surprise. He was very aggressive in his manner and threatened to evict us should the house be trashed?! This seemed odd and unnecessary. Asking politely would have been fine. Unsure if this was the owner or someone else.Other than that it was a really pleasant and wonderful stay. Perfect location for climbing. Snowdon, the bounce below and zip wire. Had a fantastic birthday :-)"
