What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages In Calderdale To Rent.
- Mrs Baines, September 2018 - verified booking
"The photos do not do the house (or surroundings) justice. The owner was there to greet us and gave a thorough tour of the property. The house is extremely well equipped and we wanted for nothing. It was extremely clean and tidy and everything felt brand new. It is a huge space with varying levels (no good for wheel chairs or people who would struggle with accessibility). Towels were provided and the owners had left a fabulous welcome pack and homemade biscuits. It is an extra special place to stay!! If I had to make any criticism it would be that the owner was on site a lot, mainly due to working on another house on the same plot. As lovely as the owner is, it could possibly feel a little intimidating to some as the holiday property was his own home not so long ago. That would be the only negative (and not really a negative at all). In all this is a wonderful place to stay and I would strongly recommend it. Thank you for a lovely stay!"

"Have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Fabulous views and great walks, even if a wee bit hilly...gets the old lungs working when we live at sea level. Our accommodation was fantastic, a barn which has converted into three spacious living areas, exceptionally clean, modern, and very well equipped. Jokingly we tried to think of something that wasn't provided...the only thing we could come up with was a cheese grater !! (not that we actually needed one haha, but bet Nicky after this comment will supply one, as she does seem to think of absolutely everything) Thank you so much for the most unexpected lovely friendly touches like flowers, wine, cake, milk and biscuits on arrival. Max enjoyed his welcome dog chews too. You have thought of everything ! We both loved the local bar The Robin Hood. So many friendly people. All bars, shops etc are so dog friendly it's fantastic. Hope to come again as four days was not enough !"

"S3434 is equipped to a very high standard, with comfortable beds and a lovely view from the back, across the valley. The nearby Hinchliffe Pub serves superb food and makes all guests very welcome (within walking distance for most). Tv, telephone and broadband signals work very well. You need a car, unless you're happy to take the bus (stop is nearby). The website photograph is slightly deceptive, as there is actually no grass at the back which children could play on. As a mature couple, we were perfectly happy with the terrace, table and chairs. Heating worked well. Be advised that the road at the back front of the property is busy during the rush hours - not something we had anticipated. However, it didn't really disturb us and we slept well. We will definitely return, as Hebden Bridge is a lovely town (5 miles) as is the area of Cragg Vale. Full of history!"

"Everything we could have wanted for our week away was provided and we really enjoyed the welcome pack, especially the homemade biscuits!! The hot tub was an added bonus, which everyone loved. Hebden Bridge is a charming town, with a wide offer for eating out; Hardcastle Craggs is worth a visit for the woodland walks and can be reached by public footpath from The Retreat rather than paying to park on site. Our hosts, Mark and Joanne, were on hand to welcome us and available for any queries throughout our stay. - they have obviously put a lot of care and thought into the design of the cottage. We would absolutely recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a restful and relaxing holiday."

"Broughton House was absolutely charming and a lovely conversion job has been conducted on the house. The kitchen was VERY well equipped, the best I've ever seen and there was a good selection of books, DVDs and games. The bathroom is small but that's the nature of the house, it was all very pretty. The beds were comfortable, the house warm, and overall we had a wonderful stay. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends and hope we get an opportunity to stay there again. The location is great, very close to town. The key code box meant there was ease of getting in as we arrived late at night."
