"There was a good supply of wood for the multi fuel stove and we had it working overtime! Wifi was excellent and although we lost TV signal from time to time, this was to be expected given the diabolical weather conditions. The bedrooms were comfortable and the showers adequate. The kitchen was extremely well equipped with everything we needed. There was plenty of comfortable seating in the sitting room. The big plus for this property was the garden and courtyard surrounding it which were secure and very dog friendly and would be a lovely place to sit in good weather. There was fantastic walking to be had right on the doorstep and the local village pub served excellent food and was welcoming and friendly. My only reservations are that if you don't like spiral staircases (and I don't) that could be problematic. As it was only my daughter and myself, we could avail ourselves of the other two bedrooms - but it could be an issue for some people. Also, I did worry at times about the cream carpet and my muddy dog. The weather was terrible and although I did my very best to clean her off, it didn't seem a very practical floor covering and I would rather have not had the stress! I love this area of Wales and this village in particular and I would definitely book this property when we visit again.Great location for walking. Local pub serves good food at a great price. Only grumble was there was not enough wood for a cosy fire each night, which is something I look forward to after a days walking when the weather is wet and windy.Equipped with everything one could possibly need."

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Capel Vestry. It's located in Abergynolwyn about 7 miles from the coast and nestled amongst beautiful hills all around. There's a pub at the end of the road and a kids playground too. There's also a little river and the Tallylyn railway is just moments down the road. A little way further are the Dolgoch Falls and in the other direction there are the ruins of Castell y Bere. There was definitely no shortage of things to do! Every morning we enjoyed a different local walk/hike. The sleeping accommodation is very comfortable and quite stylishly decorated. It was all in very good condition and is clearly well looked after by the owners. We enjoyed a couple of meals at the house and then we ate out other times. Can recommend the Railway Inn! We would definitely return to the Capel Vestry."

"Beautiful and extremely comfortable barn in a stunning location. My daughter and I along with our two dogs spent a very relaxing week here and even the weather was kind to us. The house is very well equipped with everything you could need. The property is situated in a small village just inside Snowdonia National Park and is surrounded by mountains with fantastic walking just yards from the front door. Worth mentioning is the fact that the village has no shop and the nearest supermarket is around 6 miles away, worth bearing in mind if you arrive with no food or refreshments. The village does have a very welcoming pub though that provides very good food. Apart from walking, there is so much to explore in the region and this house makes a great base for doing that. We really couldn't have chosen anywhere better."

"Lovely house with great views, games and large TV with many channels provided. Plenty of crockery, dishes pans etc...which is nice to find should you want to make meals. Bright and airy and well furnished. The surrounding area is beautiful with waterfalls close by to walk to and also plenty of walks on the flat. Only faults were that it says towels included...only one small towel per person was issued, not enough when you are visiting in the winter, there is a washing machine but it would have meant hanging them over radiators all day, two each would have been better. They ask you to drag the bins up a long road on a Wednesday for bin men to collect! and to strip the beds when you leave! inappropriate I feel when we had paid nearly £600. If they just addressed these minor things it would have been perfect."

"Hendre Barn Mawr is a stunning barn. Extremely well equipped, warm and homely. We were inpressed by the games, dvds and books at our disposal and the kitchen had every possoble utensil that could ever be needed!!It is ideally located for local walks and trips further afield. We had a lovely meal in the local pub and an equally lovely lunch in the local cafe. My only slight criticism of the barn was that although it said 'enclosed garden' it is not completely secure and therefore a close eye needs to be kept on any dogs. One of our dogs is small and could easily have slipped through the bottom of the gate onto the road if we hadn't been watching. Also to the right of the barn there is a low wall with bushes over and one of our dogs managed to jump the wall and through a gap in the bush into next doors garden."
