Situated on an escarpment around which the River Dee winds its course, this charming village boasts a fine collection of 18th century buildings, a small selection of local shops, a great restaurant and a traditional pub. The nine Meres of Ellesmere are also nearby, created during the glacial period and now providing scenic walks, boat trips, sailing, fishing and bird watching opportunities to the many visitors that travel from near and far. Ellesmere also has a broad variety of attractive buildings including St Mary's Church, which dates back to the Norman Conquest, whilst offering a fine selection of shops and no less than nine pubs in addition to an annual beer festival, making this an ideal holiday location all year round.
