About this property

Nestled amidst the rolling Welsh fields on the outskirts of Llantwit Major in the Vale of Glamorgan is Ty Coets, Morfa Farm. This wonderful, dog-friendly holiday home benefits from a welcoming interior completed by two well-appointed bedrooms, off-road parking and a fabulous setting that makes the most of the breath-taking countryside and the picturesque coast; an ideal choice for small families, friends or couples looking to explore the wonders of South Wales. After a day full of exploration, cross the threshold into your new home-from-home where you can unwind on the plush sofas in front of the gentle warmth of the electric flame-effect stove and TV. Later, step into the fully-equipped kitchen/diner to rustle up a delicious meal which the whole family can enjoy around the dining table. Spend the last of the evening upstairs on the small balcony where you can raise a toast to your getaway and marvel at the sun setting behind the rolling fields. When the evening draws to a close choose between a double and twin bedroom then in the morning freshen up in either the bathroom or ground-floor shower room, ready to embark on your next adventure. If you can tear yourself away from this idyllic abode venture into the heart of Llantwit Major where you can stock up on all your self-catering essentials at local stores or treat your loved ones to a delicious meal out at the White Hart, Illtud’s 216 or The Old Swan Inn. Make the most of the coast by spending the day on Llantwit Major Beach, Dunraven Bay, Ogmore Beach and Porthcawl, all perfect for enjoying leisurely strolls with your beloved canine companion and admiring views across the sea. Other must-see, nearby attractions include the National Trust’s Dyffryn Gardens, Kenfig National Nature Reserve, the Welsh Coal Mining Experience and Caerphilly Castle. The capital city of Cardiff is also within reach housing endless shopping opportunities and well as a variety of bars, restaurants, and museums. All this and more awaits at Ty Coets, Morfa Farm.

Llantwit Major is one of the Vale of Glamorgan's most picturesque communities, and it is home to several historic structures, including the first church in the area (built over 1,500 years ago) as well as spectacular natural features like caverns and sandy beaches. You can indulge in some retail therapy at Cowbridge's high-end boutiques, or you can go the short distance to Bridgend's town centre and famed outlet village. Sand beaches, a surf school, fantastic fishing, and a popular park can be found on Barry Island and Porthcawl, two of the many seaside resorts that dot the rugged and magnificent Glamorgan Heritage Coastline and the Wales Coast Path. Ogmore-by-Sea, on the other hand, has a long, pristine beach and a riding stable where you may go for beach rides. Cardiff and Swansea are easily accessible by train or automobile, so you may travel there for a day of shopping, theatre, music, and sports. The world-famous open-air Folk Museum may be found in St. Fagans, not far from Cardiff. A superbly convenient base from which to explore the varied attractions of South Wales' beaches and countryside.

Lovely welcome basket which was much appreciated.- the Welsh cakes and jam were delicious!!The mattress on the double bed was a little thin and hard and could probably do with replacing . Would definitely recommend as a base for exploring the fabulous Glamorgan coast.
