This delightful detached cottage, set in the heart of the pretty Vale of Glamorgan village of Llantwit Major is built on the site of the village bakery. A spacious two-bedroom cottage, The Old Bakehouse is ideally situated for those wanting a base within walking distance of shops, pubs, restaurants and even the beach, which is just one mile away. There are two airy bedrooms, the master with a king-size bed and the other a family room with three singles. The bright family bathroom is conveniently situated between the between the two bedrooms and features a full-size bath, perfect for soaking any aches away after a wonderful day of walking or cycling the stunning surrounding area.
Downstairs, the open plan living area has plenty of comfy seating for relaxing after the days activities and a large table where you can enjoy family meals whilst discussing adventures for the rest of the week. Step through the dining area to the well-equipped kitchen, where a door gives access to the walled courtyard, ideal for alfresco meals, a barbecue or just relaxing with a drink. Everything was home from home, especially the addition of the new armchair. The old bakehouse ghost welcomes us every year, always checking that weâre all in bed and sleeping, and then disappearing by the sound of the floorboards creaking slightly on top of the stairs, no Iâm not nuts, my wife and son also welcomes his company. As usual the cottageâs warm welcome starting off three weeks of wonderful lazy nights and days of brisk walks with willow, followed by evenings of games, a fantastic collection, and either takeaways, or local butcher produce, fabulous. By the way, sammys chip shop is superb, the best fish and chips anywhere, be careful of ordering large chips, the portions are huge, but the chips, excellent.Comfortable, warm, everything catered for again, thanks you for another great stay, from the Davids,

We used the cottage as a base for the weekend while attending a family wedding at Rosedew Farm, and it was the perfect location. Debbie was an excellent host - really responsive and very accommodating.

However we were surprised at the value for the money we paid. The cottage was very clean, the kitchen although not modern was very well maintained and had all that we needed during our stay. The beds were clean and comfortable. We have no complaints. Thank you
