Snaptrip says

12 Victoria Terrace is a charming cottage in Nantlle, praised for its superb views and tranquil location. Guests appreciate the homey touches, such as books and DVDs, and the property's suitability for walks and outdoor activities. While some maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is one of comfort and enjoyment in a beautiful environment.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The property is generally well-maintained, with guests finding it clean upon arrival. There are no significant complaints about cleanliness, indicating a high standard is kept.

The location is highly praised for its quietness, beautiful views of the lake and mountains, and proximity to walking routes and outdoor activities, making it an ideal spot for nature lovers.

The cottage offers a homely feel and is comfortable for most guests. However, concerns about steep stairs, noise levels, and mattress quality in some rooms suggest that comfort could be improved for families with young children or those with mobility issues.

The property is equipped with useful amenities, but several reviews mention maintenance issues such as leaks, electrical problems, and noise from the bathroom macerator. These issues indicate a need for attention to facilities and maintenance.

While guests appreciate the extra touches like books and DVDs, there are no mentions of gifts, and therefore it is not possible to assess the thoughtfulness in terms of gifts provided.

About this property

Nestling in an area of outstanding natural beauty, 12 Victoria Terrace is ideal for both outdoor enthusiasts and those in need of relaxation! This traditional terraced holiday cottage is situated in the village of Nantlle which has a delightful lake and is overlooked by the majestic mountains of Snowdonia.

There’s a cosy sitting area at one end of the main sitting & dining area where two comfortable sofas surround a multi-fuel woodburning stove. Whilst this space is open-plan, the sitting area maintains a cosy feel and there is also a TV here with DVD player, making it perfect for snuggly winter nights in. There is a dining table at the other end with chairs, great for family breakfasts or dinner. There’s even a piano - bring someone with you who can play for in-house entertainment!

The sweet kitchen has fabulous slate worktops in keeping with the setting of this fab holiday house. You’ll find a Belfast sink, electric cooker and hob with extractor above, as well as a fridge and microwave. An added treat is the pantry with a freezer! There is an outbuilding next to the kitchen which houses a washing machine/dryer.

A ground floor bathroom contains a shower over the roll top bath with accompanying loo and wash hand basin.

Head upstairs to find the three bedrooms - one with double bed and built-in wardrobe and one with two single beds and gorgeous views out towards the lake and the mountains. On this floor you’ll also find the modern family shower room with a large shower cubicle, heated towel rail, loo and wash hand basin. The third room is in the attic and has a double bed.

Venture outside to find a small enclosed garden laid to lawn with a decked area complete with table and chairs. Imagine the sun on your skin whilst sat here on a summer's day enjoying an alfresco brunch! Shed for storage of kayaks and other outdoor gear.

If you’re a water-lover you can venture out on the lake for a wild swim, or go out in your kayak or canoe (the lake cannot be accessed directly from the house but is just a few hundred yards to access). If you’re more land-based, enjoy a cycle through the incredible scenery of Snowdonia - it truly is a delight! The villages of Beddgelert and Rhyd Ddu are not far from 12 Victoria Terrace. If you want to climb Snowdon, Rhyd Ddu is the place to go! Although, this is one of the more challenging routes, so caution is advised.

Alternatively, if you’re after a more relaxed break, why not snuggle in front of the woodburner with a cuppa or glass of wine and a good book? This holiday cottage is also well-situated for relaxing days spent on the beach! Abersoch, Llanbedrog and Nefyn on the Llŷn Peninsula are always popular. Newborough on Anglesey is also another gem. A ten-minute drive takes you to Caernarfon with its medieval castle and fab places to eat and drink. Porthmadog, Pwllheli and Criccieth and also just 20 minutes drive away, meaning you’ll get a perfect taster of North Wales from this brilliant holiday cottage! 12 Victoria Terrace is also close to Trigonos yoga/mindfulness retreat.

The lovely quiet village of Penygroes is situated around six miles from the historic castle town of Caernarfon, bordering the Snowdonia National Park with beautiful scenic walks and mountain views easily accessible. A good selection of shops, cafes and pubs are available in the village and the wider local area is full of restaurants and activities such as golfing, swimming, tennis, surfing and horse riding to name but a few. Plas Dinas Country House is also nearby, which is home to some great history as well as The Gun Room restaurant. The beaches on Anglesey and the Llyn Peninsula can be reached in about half an hour, while the beach at Dinas Dinlle is just a 10-minute drive away. Nearby, Caernarfon is home to Caernarfon Castle, which is well worth a visit, with further shops and cafes available, as well as steam train trips. Portmeirion is also a short distance away, featured in the TV series ‘The Prisoner’. Just 8 miles away is the Welsh Heritage centre which has a licensed cafe at Nant Nwrtheyrn with magnificent sea views from it's decked dining area. Beddgelert is a very attractive village, surrounded by the beautiful Snowdonia National Park, with a fabulous arts and craft shop, and several pubs. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Thank you! The best thing about this property is - views from the window, especially loft bedroom. And piano. The property had everything that was listed.

Felt like going from home to home, in a beautiful location. Wish we could have taken the views back with us. Well equipped cottage, the only downsides were the loft bedroom is very noisy during bad weather/rain especially at night; the toilet seat was not attached in upstairs bathroom making it practical impossible to use that toilet; and each bed had a different hardness of mattresses and pillows which was fantastic for chosing which one suited you best, but due to steep stairs to loft, it limits who is able to access that bedroom. However this is entirely understandable. We had an amazing time during our stay with lots of brilliant places to visit nearby. A great location for walking and exploring, but also travelling to surrounding areas.

All was clean and well maintained. Pros and cons to all 3 bedrooms: Loft bedroom has the best views and best bed, and black-out blinds in the window, but the steep and uneven staircase is unenclosed with no door so less private and hard to block out light and noise from the rest of the house. Being a loft room, much of the space is too low to walk upright in. Our kids loved hanging out in there. Small double bedroom (middle floor) has a useful built in cupboard and is fine except for having the bathroom macerator the other side of the thin internal wall from the bathroom. The macerator is about as subtle as a pneumatic drill when in use. Twin bedroom has lovely views but mattresses are not great (very wobbly). Living-dining room is comfy, but sofa seating seats 4 comfortably or 6 at a squash. Piano is a nice extra, if you are not fussy about the tuning. WiFi worked well (no phone reception in the area). Kitchen although small is well equipped. Although I have outlined some niggles above, we had a lovely stay here. There was lots to do within a reasonable drive (and despite the apparently remote location, a fabulous coffee shop within walking distance!) and the cottage was comfortable for hunkering down in when rain stopped play.
