Guests say

Glasfor cottage offers a charming and traditional Welsh experience in a fantastic location, with guests appreciating its character and the cosy log fire, especially during colder months. However, several reviews highlight concerns regarding cleanliness, maintenance, and general upkeep, with some guests noting issues such as damp smells, stained carpets, and dated facilities. While the cottage is well-situated for exploring the area and has the potential for a comfortable stay, attention to cleaning and maintenance would greatly enhance the overall guest experience.

Multiple guests reported significant cleanliness issues, including stained carpets, cobwebs, dust, mould, and dirty kitchen and bathroom areas. Bedding and towels were also mentioned as musty or stained.

The location is consistently praised as fantastic, offering a great base for a holiday and contributing positively to guests' experiences.

While some guests found the cottage comfortable and enjoyed the log fire, others experienced discomfort due to cold temperatures, musty smells, and issues with bedding and heating.

Facilities and maintenance were a concern for several guests, with reports of broken lights, ill-fitting kitchen cupboards, inadequate pans, and a lack of basic supplies such as toilet rolls and tea towels.

One guest appreciated the festive decorations, which added a thoughtful touch to their stay. However, such gestures are not guaranteed for all guests.

This is the 2nd time we have stopped at Gllasfor and I have to say I was really disappointed this time . When we arrived we opened the door and the smell of damp was overwhelming the carpets are heavily stained and the overall appearance of the cottage was not very clean. The kitchen cooker was dirty (I bought some scrubber pads and cleaned it myself) the cupboards are all dirty and need a good clean. The pans are inadequate if you do your own cookjng .The radiator plug in the kitchen has burnt out and been left as is which is a fire hazard ? No toilet roll no tea towels human and dog hair in corners just generally neglected . The beds smelt musty. The owners need to get in there and sort it out we are due to go again in November so I am hoping this review is read by the owners and they sort issues out. Just to say I left the place cleaner than how we found it.

No. on arrival the cottage looks very nice. But the smell of damp when you open the door is overwhelming. The cottage was very cold. The kitchen : cupboards smell musty, the cooker is dirty, the fridge smells of fish and needs a deep clean. The bathroom : toilet seat broken, no light in bathroom, 1 hand towel and 2 bath towels for 3 adults. They smell very musty. The main bedroom: blood stain on quilt, blood stain on mattress cover. Bad condonation.window once open can't lock. The second room lamp don't work. No towels.and musty smellThe main stairs light doesn't always work.No logs supplied for fire. We paid £10 on logs but it only lasted about an hour .
