Y Bwthyn is a well-received cottage in North Wales, praised for its stunning location, welcoming hosts, and thoughtful touches like homemade cakes. Guests enjoy the peaceful surroundings, scenic walks, and cosy atmosphere, with a wood burner and comfortable furnishings. Some concerns over cleanliness and maintenance are noted, but the overall experience is cherished for its tranquillity and natural beauty.
Most guests found the cottage clean and tidy, though there were a few mentions of cleanliness not being up to standard. These seem to be isolated incidents rather than a common theme.
The location is highly praised for its beauty, tranquillity, and proximity to nature, with spectacular views and walking opportunities. The remote setting is appreciated, although the access road is noted as narrow.
The cottage is generally considered cosy and well-equipped, providing a comfortable stay. Some guests mentioned the mattresses being of poor quality, but this is not a widespread issue.
Facilities are deemed adequate, with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen and useful utilities. However, there are comments about the need for better hot water supply and a functioning shower, suggesting room for improvement in maintenance.
Guests frequently mention the thoughtful gestures of the hosts, such as homemade cakes and other welcome gifts. While these are appreciated, it is noted that such personal touches, though delightful, are not guaranteed.

The kitchen had everything we needed, bed was very comfortable, great shower and Mrs Hughes left us a lovely welcoming cake which was a very nice touch. Plenty of space for drying wet walking gear too. Maybe some info in the cottage about nearest supermarkets etc would be helpful but in reality we can get all this information from our phones these days and it's actually quite refreshing not to be bombarded with notices and to be able to just knock on and ask if we needed to know anything. Just a really chilled pleasant stay. Would definitely return

On the basic side but everything was covered. Comfortable bed and sofa. Owners helpful but not intrusive. Lovely homemade cake and milk on arrival. Beautiful setting but 3 mile drive on single track lane to access. Huge field for dogs to stretch their legs. I only gave 4 stars for listing because tea towels ARE provided and logs are FREE. We will go back.
