Snaptrip says

Ty Cerrig is a charming and cosy cottage nestled in the tranquil Welsh countryside, offering a peaceful retreat with stunning scenery. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable furnishings, and the secure garden which is ideal for dogs. The absence of Wi-Fi contributes to the cottage's charm, encouraging a true escape. The property's vintage feel, proximity to beaches and walking trails, and thoughtful touches like a welcome cake have been well received, making it a highly recommended stay for those seeking a serene getaway.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The majority of guests found the cottage to be clean and tidy, contributing to a comfortable stay. However, a few reviews mentioned issues with cleanliness, including the presence of spider webs, dead flies, and a general need for more thorough cleaning in some areas. These instances seem to be exceptions rather than the rule.

The cottage's location is highly praised for its exceptional setting, offering tranquillity and proximity to both the beach and scenic walks. The remote feel, while still being close to the village of Llanbedr, is a highlight for many guests. The narrow access road is noted, but the seclusion and beauty of the area are considered well worth the drive.

Guests frequently mention the comfortable beds and the cosy atmosphere of the cottage, enhanced by features like the log fire. Some suggested improvements for even greater comfort, such as larger beds, but overall, the cottage is regarded as a comfortable and welcoming space.

The cottage is generally well-equipped, with a secure garden and a kitchen that meets guests' needs. However, there are comments about the lack of Wi-Fi and mobile reception, and some maintenance issues like the shower drainage and the need for garden upkeep. Recent updates like new carpets and showers are acknowledged positively.

While guests have mentioned thoughtful gestures such as a welcome Christmas tree and food hamper, these are individual experiences and may not be consistent for all stays. As such, it is not possible to accurately score thoughtfulness based on the available reviews, and guests should not expect these extras as guaranteed.

About this property

Llanbedr 1 mile. This single-storey cottage is situated in the Snowdonia National Park, above the village of Llanbedr, between the coast road and the Rhinog mountains. Carved out of a very ancient farm building, the cottage has an endearing, quirky charm, boasting roughly hewn beams, irregular white stone walls and an attractive woodburner in the sitting room. This is an ideal, cosy cottage retreat to return to after a busy day of sightseeing, and the rear garden has a seating area ideal for dining alfresco. Walkers and nature lovers will struggle to find a more suitably-located holiday cottage for indulging their passion, and despite the away-from-it-all location, the village of Llanbedr is only a 15-minute walk away. The Victoria Inn pub is a great asset and serves meals all day, with the River Artro flowing beside it. For days out, explore the beautiful surrounding coastline, or discover the magnificent Snowdonia National Park. A lovely Llanbedr cottage, perfect for a restful break.

Boasting its own mild climate because of its unusual position between The Rhinogs and the golden beaches of the North Wales coastline, and offering an abundance of wildlife and birds, the charming village of Llanbedr also offers a good choice of local shops and a superb pub. The nearby town of Harlech is popular with golfers because it's home to the famous Royal St. David's course, Dominated by the magnificent 13th century castle, Harlech also offers a variety of amenities including good quality restaurants. Barmouth is eight miles away and here you will find an incredible Panorama Walk with spectacular views, and a harbour from which you can hop on a ferry to Fairbourne and discover its miniature railway or take mackerel fishing trips out to sea. We had trouble getting the TV to work on the first night but Ruth was available by phone to help. The beds were so comfy, we slept so well. The kitchen had everything we needed. We're both tall and on a couple of occasions we did bump our heads on the low doorways so be aware of that that too. Overall the cottage is so peaceful and cozy.

The kitchen was well equipped with cafetière, tea pot and all the pans you needed - even a knife sharpener. Thanks for the coffee and cake too! Nice walks right on the door step, and a short walk to the village for supplies or the pub (just a steep climb back up….) In terms of improvement, somewhere to separate out the recycling to and instructions on where to take it for collection from the cottage would be good (apologies if there was and we missed it). Harlech beach and Barmouth both had recycling collection points though.
