Dolgellau 3.5 miles. Resting on a private complex in Brithdir near the town of Dolgellau, is this Scandinavian-style detached lodge. Set over a single storey, adjacent to a lovely stream and sleeping four guests, Woodlands Lodge is a cheerful dwelling for your next family trip to Snowdonia National Park. You are greeted to the property with ample off-road parking at the front, before you take two steps up into the welcoming hallway, where there is space to hang coats and leave your shoes, keeping the lodge super tidy. To your right there is a sweet twin room with wooden furnishings, whilst to your left there is a double room with an en-suite WC, both bedrooms make for a homely place to escape to when the evening draws to a close. To compliment the two well-kept bedrooms, there is a spacious bathroom, so guests can soak in a long bath or freshen up with a quick rinse in the shower. Continuing to impress, there is a welcoming sitting room, with a woodburning stove at centre stage, adding a warm feel as guests gather round the TV, put on their favourite DVD and relax after a long day. To finish the property there is the kitchen/diner, which has all that you need to cook up a storm to enjoy round the dining table as you toast to a wonderful holiday. There is also a handy dishwasher and washing machine to assist with cleaning and freshening up. Outside, there is a gravelled garden with furniture and a quirky arbour bench with covered seats, great for enjoying a bottle of wine in the peaceful outdoors, with the sounds of the steam running adjacent to the garden area. Woodlands Lodge is situated on the southern edge of the picturesque Snowdonia National Park, between the prolific Cader Idris mountain range and the west coast, meaning it is an ideal holiday base for those who love the outdoors, with ample walking and cycling routes on your doorstep, and also the relaxation of the nearby sandy beaches at Barmouth, Fairbourne and Aberdovey. A short drive takes you to the market town of Dolgellau, which offers you a range of shops, pubs, cafes, a wine bar, two bakeries and some tasty restaurants, as well as over 200 gorgeous listed buildings. Take a drive to the popular seaside town of Barmouth where you can walk across Barmouth Bridge to enjoy sweeping views of the sea, enjoy an evening out in one of the many restaurants with views of the quaint harbour, or alternatively, relax on the soft beach and take the opportunity to go for a dip. Also nearby, is Coed y Brenin Forest Park with its mountain bike trail, a fantastic location for outdoor sports amongst scenic mountains, forests, waterfalls, castles and beaches. Dolgellau is a market town located on the edge of Snowdonia, making a great holiday in either the outdoor pursuits on offer in Snowdonia, or the relaxing days on the sandy beaches of Barmouth, Fairbourne and Aberdovey. The town has shops, five pubs, a wine bar, restaurants, cafes and two bakeries. Dolgellau is home to over 200 listed buildings, and is a designated 'cycle break centre' boasting cycle routes all around the area.
