Adjoining the 400-year-old farmhouse of Erw Goed, Hen Stabl (the old stable) has been restored to provide comfortable holiday accommodation. Set in the Snowdonia National Park in a beautiful and secluded location, it is close to many popular tourist attractions. The market town of Dolgellau, 6 miles, and 3 miles from the sandy beaches at Fairbourne and Barmouth. Cadair Idris is 4 miles, whilst Coed-y-Brenin offers good walks and mountain biking. Just a stone’s throw from the Mawddach Estuary. The owners keep bees, chickens and ducks, so eggs, honey and beeswax products are available. Guests have access to the 85-acre smallholding and woodland and there is a bothy and camp fire site available for outdoor cooking or camp fires. Shop and pub 3 miles.

We returned to Hen Eglwys Erw Goed and had another wonderful peaceful stay. The cottage is cosy and comfortable and has everything you need, and the location is absolutely fantastic, a short walk away from the Mawddach trail, with wonderful grounds to explore around the cottage too with amazing views. Paul and Pauline are lovely hosts who are always there to help should we need anything. Thanks for having us back, we hope to return in the future.

Beautiful little spot to explore North Wales. extensive grounds that you're free to explore from the house and a footpath down to the estuary. Short drives to the coast and Dolgellau, with plenty to explore nearby. Friendly hosts who provided their own honey and soap and we bought some duck eggs for breakfast!
