Guests say

Dol Y Clochydd is a beautifully situated cottage offering stunning views, direct river access, and spacious, comfortable accommodation. Guests consistently praise the peaceful setting, secure gardens ideal for dogs, and proximity to scenic walks and attractions. The house is well-equipped for families and outdoor enthusiasts, with cosy features like log burners and underfloor heating. While most visitors found the property welcoming and relaxing, a few noted areas for improvement in cleanliness and maintenance. Overall, the cottage provides a memorable and tranquil retreat in the Welsh countryside.

Most guests found the cottage clean and comfortable, but several reviews mention issues such as cobwebs, mould in the shower, and a need for a deeper clean. One review highlighted a significant concern with mould and a hole in the ceiling, while others noted minor maintenance issues. Overall, cleanliness is generally acceptable but could be improved.

The location is frequently described as stunning, peaceful, and ideal for outdoor activities, with beautiful gardens, river access, and proximity to walks and attractions. Some mention road noise from the A470 and a steep drive, but these do not detract significantly from the overall appeal.

Guests consistently praise the comfort of the beds, spacious rooms, and relaxing atmosphere. Features such as roll-top baths, underfloor heating, and cosy living spaces contribute to a high level of comfort throughout the property.

The cottage is well-equipped with a modern kitchen, games, books, and outdoor amenities. However, some guests noted issues with outdoor lighting, shower maintenance, unclear appliance instructions, and occasional lack of supplies like logs or a clean BBQ. Most facilities are appreciated, but some maintenance and clearer guidance would enhance the experience.

There are no specific mentions of welcome gifts or extra thoughtful touches in the reviews, so a score cannot be provided for this category.

Our second stay, and the location & house are still fab in a beautiful valley with river swims at the end of the garden, and a warm cosy house to return to. Plenty of DVDs, games and jigsaws for rainy days. Our only disappointment was the fact the garden grass had not been recently mowed, which discouraged the small children from playing in it.The kitchen could do with a couple of shallow baking trays for heating eg pizzas.

I was extremely disappointed with my stay at this cottage. On arrival, I discovered a large hole in the ceiling and mouldy, crumbling plaster, which raised serious concerns about safety and hygiene. The property was clearly not maintained to an acceptable standard.Despite raising these issues with the owner, they were unwilling to offer a refund or any meaningful resolution. This is unacceptable given the condition of the accommodation.I would not recommend this property to anyone until the structural and mould problems are properly repaired.

Our second visit to this amazing cottage ,even ongoing repairs to a bathroom did not spoil a week with superb weather.
