    About this property

Boasting an elevated position above the treeline of Beddgelert Forest, a few miles from the foot of the majestic Snowdonia mountain range, is this delightful, Swedish-style cabin. Snowdon Vista Cabin’s key feature is the superb, commanding views it offers over Nant Colwyn and on a clear day, the Snowdon Mountain Railway train can be seen rising to the summit. This heart-warming retreat has been designed to offer family and friends alike the opportunity to spend time within a wonderful countryside setting, with a base housing all the essentials for a week-long holiday. Fulfilling your culinary needs is the well-equipped kitchen, where the designated cook of the group can prepare a home-cooked meal before gathering the family around the dining table, where countryside views can be enjoyed from every direction. After dinner, sink into the sofas which rest in front of the TV while the electric fireplace fills the room with warmth during those chilly winter months. As the evening draws to a close, drift off to sleep within one of the well-presented bedrooms, comprising of a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. During a sunny day, make the most of the patio area, where you and your loved ones can pour a refreshing drink to enjoy whilst soaking up the picturesque surroundings. If you don’t feel like cooking one evening, venture into the centre of Beddgelert, where you will find a selection of traditional pubs and eateries, as well as shops for picking up any essentials. Whilst visiting Beddgelert you can brush up on the local history by visiting Gelert's Grave or taking a tour of the Sygun Copper Mine. Alternatively, venture to the coast where you will find a number of award-winning beaches which includes the popular resort of Porthmadog or be charmed by the Italianate village of Portmeirion. Snowdon Vista Cabin is a refreshing break within an area steeped with natural beauty.

Beddgelert is a small village set at the heart of Snowdonia National Park at the foot of Mount Snowdon. Within the village you will find arts and craft shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants, centred around the Afon Glaslyn river. Within close reach you will find Aberglaslyn Pass, Welsh Highland Steam Railway, as well as Porthmadog, Portmeirion, Borth y Gest and the whole of the Llyn Peninsula.

" The first impression of the cabin was cozy with the most stunning views of Mt. Snowdon and the surrounding area. Facilities include Heating, Cooker, Microwave, Toaster, Electric Kettle, Dishwasher, Timer, Crockery, Cutlery, Pots and Pans, Wi-Fi, etc. It also has a 3-acre enclosed field for the dogs to run freely. Beddgelert is just a short drive away with 2 dog-friendly restaurants. "

" “We were looking for a quiet location with views of the mountains and we certainly got more than we anticipated! The cabin was really comfortable and Sue, the owner, was so lovely and welcoming and ensured that we had everything we needed. She could not have done more to ensure that we had a really lovely stay and was so friendly without being at all intrusive. The cabin was spotlessly clean and there were fabulous walks right from the doorstep. We will definitely be returning next year as we loved the peace and quiet, the fact that there were numerous beautiful walks right from the doorstep and the views could not be better.” "

" A wonderfully comfortable cabin with views of Snowdon. Walk right out the door and up the hill to a beautiful lake, or simply sit and enjoy the view. The kitchen may be compact but is perfectly adequate for cooking up dinner, to be enjoyed with panoramic views. Owners (Sue, Garry and Guto the dog) are very helpful and friendly while being totally unobtrusive. While the cabin is adjacent to their property we felt beautifully isolated which is exactly what we wanted. There is a TV but with the vista in front of us we never got close to turning it on. Beddgelert village is a 5 min drive or a bit of a walk in the evenings if you are looking for a pub/restaurant (approx 30mins). Overall we cannot recommend Snowdon Vista highly enough and will definitely be re-booking. "

" The cabin was immaculately clean, well equipped, comfortable and the welcome pack was excellent. The location is quiet, tranquil and close to numerous walks and close to several pretty villages. The owners Sue and Gary were extremely helpful, friendly and attentive; nothing was too much trouble. We have been visiting this area for over 30 years and have never had such a fantastic holiday that ticked all our expectations; stunning location, scenery, comfort and warm friendly owners all in one place. Everything you need is supplied, the cabin is comfortable, warm and airy. Dogs are very welcomed. All in all a wonderful week, which could not have been bettered.” "

Access to cabin along winding gritted track.. a little rutted and bumpy in places but perfectly manageable in a medium sized family car. Wine and Welsh cakes provided on arrival and basics...tea, coffee, sugar, milk sachets. We took own towels and pillows as a precaution but had no worries that everything had been done to ensure whole place was Covid free. Unfortunately weather wasn't quite so obliging but with an electric fire for warmth we were happy to batten down the hatches and relax.... "

" Warm and comfortable cabin with all facilities. Excellent for our dogs, loved being able to roam in surrounding field with no leads!! Well away from roads, so stress free for us. Cabin is about a twenty minute drive from Porthmadog, where there is a largeTesco, and the town is delightful (lots of charity shops too, which suited mum!!). Having owners living nearby is always handy for any problems - for us, it was with one of our cars - they very kindly lent my dad the tools to fix it, and pointed us in the direction of a car parts supplier, instead of having to take to a garage!! Owners have a dedicated staff, trained up for covid situation, who do the 'changeover', and hand sanitizer is supplied if you haven't brought your own. They gave instructions of what we needed to do on leaving - putting bedding and linen in bags etc. and distanced when we saw them while we were there. Hopefully if we can go again in future, when all this us over, we can shake their hands and thank them for a wonderful, stress free, relaxed holiday. Peter Brown. "

" This stunning secluded setting provides a lovely location and a perfect peaceful get away. The lodge had everything we needed for self catering, comfortable beds and furniture. We enjoyed the approach to the Lodge travelling uphill through the campsite on forest tracks crossing the Welsh Highland steam railway. We found Beddgelert beautiful with good restaurants and coffee houses. There is Beddgelert and Gelert’s grave walk 2.63km well paved that goes down the side of the river it takes about an hour and it is wheelchair friendly. Snowdonia is exceptionally beautiful with many great views and panarama’s we come back time after time. "

We also visited the wider area of Snowdonia with ease on the spectacular mountain roads. A lovely Cabin offering everything you need for a get away break from it all, with a warm welcome and helpful advice from Sue the owner close at hand it will be difficult to beat. "

" The facilities are good with excellent broadband although no mobile signal available on the O2 network. The cabin is slightly on the small side for 4 people, it would probably work better as a 1 bedroom property if you wanted plenty of space to relax in. The owners who are on site are very helpful, there is work taking place on the dry stone walling which could be little disruptive. We had a very enjoyable stay in the cabin and would recommend it to others. "

" The hosts, Sue and Gary were great - really friendly and attentive; the cabin was a perfect retreat from our busy routines, with amazing walks through the forrest frkm the doorstep and the views were just spectacular! We loved it here, as did our dog and children! Can't wait to go back! "

" The views and scenery were exceptional and the facilities clean and well equipped. It was exactly what we were looking for. There are some wonderful walks from the doorstep (including one up to a beautiful secluded lake which is absolutely worth a trip). On top of that, Sue and Gary were fantastic, and could not have been more accommodating. They struck a great balance between leaving us to our own devices to enjoy what the cabin and area had to offer, whilst also being on hand to offer great local advice and to ensure we were happy. We will definitely be back! "

" .. As a smoker the outside seating area was a bonus. When it states it has its own water supply it should have stated the water could be bottled and sold in bottles - a mountain spring is the source, then harvested, bespoke multistage filtered and ultra-violet treated providing pure water at the tap. The management (Sue and Gary) and their team either provides as much space or interaction as desired demonstrating oodles of hospitality. Skinny dipping if you forget to pack your bathing costume/swimming trunks in a mountain lake no further than half hour away after a days walking or first thing in the morning to start your day with a sparkle. Local eatery's - we would suggest look for the one with the most customers as a measure of its fare. We sat beside a stream (that was probably a river after the rains) with our Jack Russell and ate our fill - the portions looked enormous, but after a day's walking the contents of the plate seemed to diminish with time (and the help of JR!). If you're in to tourist stuff, then join the hoards who head for Snowdon, but Sue and Gary can point you in the direction of less travelled paths - was I staying for a week I'd plan BBQ's for the weekend and remain on-site away from the hoards afore-mentioned, but make the most of the weekdays. Collect shopping, drinks and refrigerated foodstuffs on the way in - Caenarfon has all the big supermarkets or use Portmadoc is nearer after arrival. I hope this helps those planning an escape from the stresses and strains of daily life - much better than a doctor's prescription pills :) "

Many thanks to Sue for her help and kindness. Thanks to you to at for a brilliant web site which enabled easy detailed searching and simple booking. "We'll be back"address "

I hope this helps those planning an escape from the stresses and strains of daily life - much better than a doctor's prescription pills :)” "

" “The view of the mountains was beautiful, even if it was a little misty at times. All in all it was a smashing break, in a lovely cabin, in a superb location! " The cabin is very comfortable and the views are amazing. The location of the cabin is very peaceful and uncrowded yet it's not too far from Beddgelert. Our hosts were very welcoming and friendly. They advised us about local area and were available if we needed anything. The welcome pack was much appreciated and included some lovely freshly baked bread which we really enjoyed. It was our first holiday away with our dog and the accommodation and surroundings worked well for him and he was made just as welcome as the rest of us! We had a lovely stay and very much hope to return soon. "

" The views are stunning, the local area is wonderful, peace and quiet was just what we were looking for and what we got. Sue met us on our arrival with fresh bread, jam, and welsh scones, cabin was spotless and Sue was very engaging, recommended a few places visit which did not disappoint. I would recommend both this property, the owners, and the website, all were fantastic, sorted out the original booking issue smoothly and would certainly use them again. "

The cabin was really comfortable and Sue, the owner, was so lovely and welcoming and ensured that we had everything we needed. She could not have done more to ensure that we had a really lovely stay and was so friendly without being at all intrusive.
