Three off-road parking spaces will greet you upon arrival, before choosing the steps or gradual slope to reach the entrance. A superb open-plan living space dominates the ground floor, beautifully appointed with a contemporary kitchen housing an array of amenities to assist with your culinary needs; whip up a hearty feast and gather your guests around the table in the neighbouring dining area to serve the fruits of your labour. Spend your down time in the sitting area, completed with a quaint bay window which provides an outlook to the distant mountains, or move into the welcoming snug where a sumptuous settee and Smart TV combine for the ultimate film night experience. During the warmer months, step outside and enjoy a spot of alfresco dining on the patio, toasting to a glass of fizz and a wonderful holiday together as you reminisce on the days adventures. The bedrooms at this Trefriw holiday cottage are situated upstairs; to the front of the property lies a king-size with dual aspect windows, a double with en-suite shower and a twin, while at the rear you have the choice of a king-size and a twin, with each bedroom wonderfully presented with fresh linen and sufficient storage space. Soothe your aching muscles in the family bathroom, lavishing in a deep soak as you turn the pages of a fascinating book, or if you’d prefer, make use of the shower over for a quick rinse. When you’re ready to venture out, the centre of Trefriw is only a few minutes walk, home to a lovely tea room and a family-run butchers/general store, ideal for picking up some quality cuts of meat and locally baked produce for an afternoon treat. For further amenities, head to the town of Llanrwst, offering a range of eateries to suit all tastes and budgets, plus a weekly market where you can pick up some fresh goods. For days out, scale the heights of Zip World and experience Europe’s longest zip line, and delve underground to Bounce Below, a unique, underground trampoline park built within the slate caverns. Trefriw is a charming village in the magnificent Conwy Valley, which is part of the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. Trefriw is in a perfect location for a wide range of activities and attractions, with the beauty of the National Park and the North Wales Coast right on its doorstep. The community has an excellent assortment of shops, taverns, and other amenities for its size. The Roman-discovered Trefriw Wells Spa, which is still in use today, is well worth a visit.

However it needs larger radiators upstairs in order to make effective use of the air source heat pump. The house in general was too hot downstairs and too cold upstairs - it potentially needs new heating controls as they seemed broken and out of sync with each other. Perhaps one downstairs and one upstairs would be sufficient. A power point for the car parking spaces for EV charging would be good too.

The property was as photographed and there was plenty of parking space for the 2 cars we took. This was particularly appreciated looking at the lack of on street parking available otherwise, very well though out by the owners/host! One of the reviews we read said the property had been cold for them but this was not the case for us, lovely and toasty for our entire stay. The property was clean and tidy, and all the basics we needed for the first few days of our stay (toilet roll, dishwasher tablets, etc) provided. We hadn't asked about Christmas decorations but there was a tree which was really nice and made us feel even more at home. My family thought I'd made the arrangements for the tree, thank you! We also appreciated the wine and mince pies that had been left for our arrival. The bedrooms were all a good size although one of the beds was a little squeaky if you rolled too much (the bedroom opposite the master). The welcome book was great, the maps were particularly helpful as many of the local attractions were closed over the holiday period so we relied on the maps provided for majority of the daily family walks we did. All in all a great stay and we would come back.
