Located a short drive from Treorchy, the award winning ’Village of the Year’ with its mass of quaint shops and eateries. Ystrad Rhondda railway station is just a 2-minute walk away, with trains to Cardiff city centre taking just 40 minutes’, and the bus stop is also a 2-minute walk.
There is much to see and do in the surrounding areas; Afan Argoed Forestry Park is excellent for mountain biking and has been rated in the top ten of the world for mountain bike rides. Bike Park Wales is approximately a 30-minute drive from the property and has a huge amount of award winning tracks to explore. The stunning Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains offer breathtaking scenery and fabulous walking.
Margam Country Park is well worth a visit, with its castle, 18th-century orangery, narrow gauge railway, deer, Fairytale Land and Go Ape tree top adventure. Zip World is also just 15 minutes’ away. Visit Dan yr Ogof Showcaves. Visit Rhondda Heritage Centre - where there is a mining experience and you can also visit St. Fagan’s which is a welsh museum, around 35 - 45 minutes drive from the property. Quad biking, archery and paintballing can all be found in the surrounding areas, along with fishing, golf and horse riding. Slightly further afield is the stunning Gower Peninsula, Britain’s first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with beautiful expanses of sandy beaches, hidden coves and coastal walks. River Lodge Annexe is very comfortable and well-equipped. It feels very private with a rear patio area surrounded by lovely trees and shrubs. It was ideal for my business trip to the area. The owner is very helpful and friendly and I'll happily return.

Alan greeted us with a friendly handshake and walked us through all we needed to know about our accommodation. He is such a nice bloke! The annexe was even better than I expected and smells amazing! I stayed there with mt two teen girls and they loved it too. Towels, bedding washing up stuff, loo roll, even some welcoming welsh cake and water, which was appreciated. Im used to a tempa firm mattress but my goodness I slept so well, I was so comfy! My youngest slept on the bed on the landing, she said she was unsure how she felt about it at first but ended up loving her little space! You can use your amazon account to log into the tv which was great. There are plenty of food choices around, we can recommend the local Chip Stop! Asda is a short drive away and its in easy walking distance of the station for Cardiff. The kitchen is well equiped, and Rhian does a splendid job of keeping it all clean and tidy! We will absolutely be back again, highly recommend 👌 👍

Lovely annexed apartment in the Rhondda valley with shops on the main street. Ultra modern inside and a fabulous courtyard style garden to sit out in the evenings. It's handy for Mining Tour Experience, Brecon Railway, Coch Castle and many other places.
