Machynlleth, a quaint Welsh market town, is surrounded by picturesque countryside. From its 19th-century clock tower, the town's streets fan out to provide easy access to the many unique shops, taverns, and cafes found there, as well as the weekly street fairs that take place on Wednesdays. Two art galleries can be found in the town and the Museum of Modern Art, Wales is located there as well, displaying the works of many different international artists and hosting concerts and lectures in its 400-seat theatre. Machynlleth is conveniently located just 10 miles from the coast, making it an excellent base from which to explore the area's fantastic walking, biking, fishing, and rock climbing.
