Set within the foothills of the Cambrian Mountains and within 4 miles, a 5 minute drive, of the Blue flag beach of Borth and Ynyslas, the setting for the hit TV drama Hinterland it is equal distance between the University town of Aberystwyth and the town of Machynlleth. Step into the open-plan living space to be greeted by a bright and airy setting with charming art decor and a contemporary finish. At the centre of the kitchen area is the breakfast bar, where you can gather to enjoy a hearty morning meal ahead of a day of rambling in the countryside, or spread out at the dining table with a full English feast with the assistance of the appliances in the kitchen letting you easily prepare all your favourites in no time. Sit with a cup of tea in the sitting area of the room, or in the winter months, the separate sitting room makes a wonderful spot to delve into a good book with the woodburning stove providing an extra bit of warmth. French Doors open to the side patio area, with pleasant views towards the coast, great for watching sunsets. On the first floor are three bedrooms, consisting of a king-size, a double and a single room which accommodates a truckle bed to provide for the extra guest, all serviced by an impressive family bathroom, providing both a bath and a separate shower room, there's plenty of space for the whole group to rest and rejuvenate. Head out in the morning to soak up the first glimpses of the sun, before heading to the local shop to grab a pint of milk, or in the evenings, the pub makes a great spot for a more indulgent pint. Head towards Machynlleth for a day out full of fun, stopping at the RSPB Ynys-hir the setting 3 years running of BBC’s Springwatch nature programme, and then the fabulous Dyfi Osprey project, see Glesni and Monty nest and raise their chicks. Amazing nature is on your front doorstep.The Dyfi area is designated as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. In Machynlleth there’s a weekly Wednesday street market you can get lost in the culture of the Museum of Modern Art or embark on a journey into the National Park of Snowdonia for scenery and wildlife like no other. The road to Corris brings you to the Centre of Alternative Technology, where you can explore all manner of environmentally friendly things, King Arthurs Labyrinth and the craft centre are a little further up the valley. In Aberystwyth visit the National Library of Wales and also Kings College building the place where Prince Charles stayed when he was studying in Aberystwyth. Watch dolphins play in the bay at sunset and the spectacular starling murmeration, where around 4000 starlings will come to nest under Aberystwyth pier in the winter evenings. Many many more activities and adventures are on your doorstep. The beautiful beach of Borth brings at low tide the exposed remains of a forest which is estimated to be over 3,000 years old. Ynyslas is a particularly attractive stretch of Mid Wales coastline that provides quite a contrast to the stony beaches at Aberystwyth. Situated a short drive north of Borth, the Ynyslas National Nature Reserve is dominated by an ever-changing sand dune landscape, which is home to an array of rare plants and wildlife, including colourful orchids early in the summertime. You may also see creatures such as lizards and wading birds in the area.With views inland and across the estuary to Aberdovey, Ynyslas is a great spot for walking or relaxing with waymarked boardwalks, trails through the dunes and a visitor centre open from Easter till September that has more information about the plants and wildlife of the area. Nant y Mynydd is the ultimate base for your next retreat to Wales.

Tre'r Ddol is a wonderful settlement in close reach of the Snowdonia National Park, Wales. The area holds a community-run shop with all the essentials as well as a delicious café and a pub. Nearby Aberystwyth makes for a wonderful day out on the beach with its scenic pier, as well as Machynlleth hosting a MoMA, golf course and easy access into the beauty of the National Park.
