About this property

Hereford Lodge is one of a pair of timber lodges (see also WAL367), situated in open grounds on a working sheep farm in the Radnorshire hills, 4 miles north of Builth Wells and 4.5 miles south of Llandrindod Wells. Ideal for walkers and nature lovers, this is a peaceful rural location, ideal for getting away from it all (although WiFi is available!). The lodges are accessed via a farm lane, with the last 50 metres or so across the grassed hillside, to a shared parking area. Sheep freely graze the surrounding land - please close all gates!

Hereford is the larger of the two lodges, with a spacious, fully fitted kitchen diner, with gas cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher, as well as a good sized dining table and six chairs. The dining area opens into the adjacent sitting room, comfortably furnished with three sofas (one is a double sofabed), dresser, large flatscreen TV with Sky (basic package) and DVD player, music system and electric stove. Also on the ground floor is a small shower room. Upstairs are two good sized bedrooms - a double with TV/DVD player and a twin - and a family bathroom with hand shower attachment on the bath, WC and basin. To the front of the lodge is a picnic bench, for enjoying the fine weather and lovely views. The lodge has gas central heating: underfloor heating downstairs and radiators upstairs, and WiFi. Mobile reception is limited, particularly indoors.

The Radnorshire countryside has some particularly attractive countryside and moorlands. It is centrally located for visiting Llandrindod Wells (National Cycle Museum, golf course and excellent local amenities), Builth Wells and Rhayader (13 miles). The picturesque Elan Valley with its reservoirs and Visitor Centre is just 16 miles away.
