About this property

A lovely barn conversion with a rustic look and feel, this two-bed holiday home is a wonderful spot for a rural Welsh holiday with family and loved ones. It’s around 1 mile from Aberyscir, a charming village perched on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Pull your walking boots on and take scenic day hikes through landscapes of grassy moorlands, heather-clad escarpments and sandstone peaks. Or, for a low-key experience, enjoy the local ambience from the comfort of a friendly local pub – the nearest being 5 miles away in Brecon.

Inside this lovely stone building, you’ll have a spacious, rustic kitchen with original wooden beams and exposed brick walls. The cosy living room has a vaulted ceiling and plenty of sofa space to relax. A wood burner creates a warm welcome after a day of fresh-air adventures. The house has two luxurious double bedrooms, each styled to ensure a restful night’s sleep. In good weather, be sure to make use of the private garden, complete with seating and a BBQ area –ideal for al fresco dining with a backdrop of stunning views.

You’ll be surrounded by wonderful walking and cycling trails taking in rolling hills, cascading waterfalls and lush valleys – this really is a nature lover’s dream. The small summit of Cefn Llechid (5 miles) is a great option for a local hike and has lovely views in every direction on a clear day. Brecon is fab for a day out, whether you’re visiting the cathedral, wandering around the quaint shops or popping in for lunch somewhere. In the mood for some water sports? At Llangorse Lake (12.5 miles) you can go sailing and windsurfing.

Great place to stay. Host was very welcoming and cottage was spotless. Warm cosy and everything you could wish for in quite rural Wales .
