Originally a shepherd’s cottage, this perfect little 400 year old terraced cottage for 2 to 3 guests is traditional in style and full of interesting collectibles. It’s about halfway between Newport/Trefdraeth and Fishguard, in the Pembrokeshire National Park.
This Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is spectacular and an added bonus for walkers is that the coastal bus stops very nearby enabling you to walk a different section each day.
Within a 5 mile radius there is a great choice and variety of small shops, galleries, pubs and eateries to suit all tastes.
Aberbach beach is about a 10 minute walk and there are plenty of other beaches and coves such as Pwllgwaelod, Cwm y Eglwys, Newport, Whitesands and Poppit to explore.
The scattered village of Dinas Cross has a well stocked mini market store and a pub, and nestles between the Preseli Mountains and the wonderful Pembrokeshire Coast Path. Pwll Gwaelod and Cwm-Yr-Eglwys beaches are both minutes away, both with breathtaking scenery offering the opportunity for tranquil days in perfect settings, and are almost unnoticed by the general public unless they leave the main route through the village. Nearby Newport is a quirky seaside town steeped in history, with various shops, tea rooms and pubs and is also a great place to go boating. With castles, mills, craft centres and golf courses galore scattered all over this beautiful Welsh county, this is the perfect base for a break all year round.

The property has been sensitively restored and extended; the garden an oasis of peace and tranquility. The owners could not have been more helpful when we had occasion to seek their assistance. We shall certainly return to this lovely part of Wales.

It is close to the main road, but this is not a problem (makes it easier to find and to drive into). We liked the peaceful area, with a beach to walk to, and access to the coast path. The house is comfortable, although the occupants of the master bedroom have to walk through the single bedroom and downstairs to get to the bathroom. I would say that this is the only drawback of the house and it wasn't a problem for us, since our daughter accompanied us. The kitchen is well equipped with essential things and the sitting room is comfortable. We enjoyed eating most meals outside and relaxing in the garden. Since we came mainly to walk and to swim in the sea, it was good to be able to hang out wet clothes on the line after our days out. We would certainly consider coming back to this cottage. Above all, it is such a beautiful area to visit. The coastal path is spectacular and it is fun to explore different coves for swimming each day.
