About this property

This very comfortable and welcoming stone holiday cottage was once a pub. It enjoys a great location at the foot of Carningli (Mount of Angels) and is just half a mile from Newport. Newport/Trefdraeth has 2 beaches, excellent range of small shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs and a street market on Mondays.

Within a mile of the cottage is the Iron Bridge on the Nevern estuary (a bird sanctuary), the Pembrokeshire Coast path and Parrog beach.

This cottage has lots of interesting artwork and quirky features with sea glimpses from some rooms. There is a very pretty cottage garden with seating areas, a rope swing and wooden bridge over the pond.

Cardigan, Fishguard, St Davids and Haverfordwest are nearby. Poppit Sands, Pwllgwaelod, Cwm yr Eglwys and Ceibwr bay are all within 20 minutes’ drive.

Newport is a beautiful coastal town in Pembrokeshire, south west Wales lying on the River Nevern with a selection of shops, pubs, tea rooms, plus an excellent golf course overlooking the sea as well as a lovely sheltered harbour. Newport lies on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path which is renowned worldwide for its unique landscape and wonderful opportunities to go dolphin and seal spotting. Wonderful coastal walks along the path or in the nearby Preseli Hills with the ever changing scenery are a walkers dream all year round. Learn about history when you visit the mills, craft centres and castles dotted around the county or spend a day at the wonderful Castell Henllys Iron Age Fort where you can learn hands on all about living during that time. See the majestic Shire Horses at the Shire Horse Farm or spend relaxing days on the huge choice of beautiful sandy beaches. All year round this is a perfect location for all the family.

There were none of these things . We were happy to take bath towels but we would expect these basic items to be provided as they are in other holiday properties . Also there was no wood provided in the basket as mentioned in the listing . We were unsure as to how much wood to take for the wood burner . On the whole we love this house , it is not fussy and it has a great garden . It is light and friendly. , easy to use . It’s quiet . Good location . Great place for a family holiday by the sea .

We were a large group with my parents in their 70’s and 80’s, myself and husband, our children ages 13,11 & 7 and our dog and we all found it accessible, spacious and comfortable. The garden was beautiful and a big hit with the children and dog and the cosy cottage was just what we were looking for. The beautiful location was also fantastic,

House is both cosy and spacious, unusual and very lovingly appointed. The garden is also beautiful as it is the walk from the back gate up to the Mountain. The only problem was that we struggled with quirky back door and front door keys, but Bob the owner came straight round and he’s on the case. Pembrokeshire is wonderful and there are lots more places to visit next time we come.
