Retire to one of the two bedrooms on offer, both well-presented, including a double with TV and en-suite shower room, and a twin, where you can make yourself at home after a fun-filled day. Heading into Narberth you’ll find an array of traditional eateries, and a selection of shops and supermarkets to ease your self-catered stay. A short journey from the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, stretching across 186 miles, enjoy far-reaching views across the coastline whilst taking a walk across the golden sandy terrain or perhaps taking to the water for some water sports. On your travels, be sure to visit some of the county’s landmarks, including Pembroke Castle, where Henry VII resided, or if you’d prefer an adrenaline filled day out, head to Oakwood Theme Park with thrilling rollercoaster rides, or Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo, with many farmyard animals, games, and fair rides to enjoy, whilst Skomer nature reserve is rich with bird life. Experience all of this, and more, at 1 Hornbeam Lodge.

With its many distinctive stores, including upscale boutiques, specialty delis, and one-of-a-kind gift shops, the thriving town of Narberth is a treat to explore. Additionally, there are a variety of restaurants, bistros, and pubs in and around the town. Numerous performances, plays, and events are held in Queen's Hall, Narberth's premier cultural and arts facility, throughout the year. The harbour and seaside towns of Tenby and Saundersfoot are nearby, and the entire county of Pembrokeshire beckons. It met all our expectations and some. It was so welcoming and homely The setting is tranquil snd peaceful. The lodge was well equiped modern and spotless. It is within easy walking distance of a quaint town and an excellent base for exploring the ciuntryside or the dramatic Welsh coast I cannit reccomend it highly enough. Jerry and Lynne .

However, there were several elements that resulted in our stay being less than satisfactory. The lodge itself had some things that did not seem to have been maintained properly. The plug on the bath broke after our first use, making the bath unusable. Whilst the owners did contact us about this, nothing was actually done. The taps on the sink in the bathroom were tight and using these resulted in unscrewing elements of the tap and slight dripping. The door handle on the en-suite is missing screws and came off. The oven door would not stay open meaning that cooking was hazardous as it required two of us to remove any item and even then, the door kept swinging shut. This resulted in our being unwilling to subsequently use this. The TV remote does not correspond with the symbols thereon which meant that we had to contact reception to find out how to get subtitles up. The hot tub is lovely in itself, however, we were unable to use this on the final evening as it had been refilled for the next clients and was not at temperature. This information was stated in the welcome book in the property but we did not know this before we arrived. We have stayed in several properties with hot tubs before, including two at Herons Brook, and this has never been an issue in the past. It is disappointing to book a property with this facility, only to find that it is not avaiable for one of the nights. This should be made clear on the listing for the property. Some of these points may seem trivial but the combination meant that our stay was not the excellent experience we have been used to in the past. We feel somewhat let down and are now reluctant to book again.
