About this property

This comfortable and cosy end of terrace holiday cottage is situated in the hamlet of Carew Cheriton in south Pembrokeshire. Overlooking the 14th century church, the cottage has lovely views and there is a stream running through the hamlet to complete this beautiful country setting.

Ten minutes walk from the cottage, set in the tranquil and beautiful surroundings of the upper reaches of the Cleddau river is Carew Castle & Tidal Mill which is run by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and well worth a visit, as is the nearby Celtic cross. Both sites are in one of the most picturesque settings in the county. Award winning Barafundle Bay, Broad Haven South, Saundersfoot, Manorbier beaches and the three Blue Flag beaches in Tenby, are all within easy driving distance.

Local facilities include a pub, the Carew Inn, which serves good food and is just half a mile away. Adjacent to Milton Brewery and pub there is a general store. This cottage is ideally situated to explore the stunning Pembrokeshire coast and countryside.

The bustling seaside resort of Tenby, known within Wales as “The Jewel in the Crown", is majestically positioned on the spectacularly beautiful 'Welsh Riviera'. Tenby is part of the stunning 186 mile Pembrokeshire Coast National Park where the water is warmed by the Gulf Stream and the county is one of the sunniest places in the UK. Enclosed by medieval walls, this beautiful town features a maze of cobbled streets, hosting an array of quirky shops, indoor locally-sourced food market, tea rooms and tempting restaurants. Almost three miles of stunning, Blue Flag-awarded beaches provide a variety of watersports, whilst walkers and cyclists can enjoy the local flora and fauna on the coastal paths, something the competitors of the world-renowned Tenby Iron-Man contest (held in mid-September) haven’t time for! A boat trip to Caldey Island is recommended to enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of the monastery and island scenery, and you can enjoy seal and puffin sightings en-route! Explore the magnificent Tudor Merchant's House, or visit the nearby resorts of Saundersfoot or Manobier. For teens and younger visitors, Oakwood Theme Park provides a brilliant, fun-filled day out whilst Folly Farm offers everything from old-fashioned fairground rides to animals both local and exotic! The perfect location for an enjoyable and varied holiday.

Perfectly adequate for our stay, NB there is no designated parking and luckily we only had one car which we parked in the narrow road.

Quiet location. Wouldn’t suit me for four adults as only one bathroom and small lounge area, but fine for family with 2 kids, though bunk beds are on ground floor. Allocated parking is not marked, suggest check with owner. Good location for exploring coast and local attractions around Tenby area and a warm welcoming cottage to come back to.

Someone has taken great care with the furniture and textiles. Beautiful part of the world. Super local church with much history and everything from Carew Castle and Tidal Mill, to fish and chips on your doorstep. Garden is well maintained and a great place to sit. I would definitely book this property again. Full marks to people who have made it such a lovely holiday cottage.
