About this property

A pretty, detached cottage, set back off the road, on the outskirts of the village of Cwmgors, near to the town of Ammanford in South Wales. Set opposite the owner's home, this delightful cottage with its large garden areas to both front and back will suit a family or couples looking to explore this wonderful area. Charmingly furnished and decorated, the owners have created a welcoming and comfortable cottage for your holiday. The spacious kitchen with dining area has two double patio doors allowing wonderful sunshine to flood in and gives easy access into the lovely rear garden. Why not enjoy alfresco dining on the patio, sit on the seat around the large tree while you listen to the flowing brook and the joyful birds in the trees, or enjoy some outdoor games together? Cooking family meals on the wonderful range, sitting together round the table and then enjoying a catch up of TV programmes in front of the warming woodburner or a quiet read in the snug, all add to the enjoyment of your holiday. With two comfy bedrooms you will all enjoy a good night’s sleep and the two bathrooms offer the chance to relax in the bath tub or enjoy a refreshing shower in the wet room. With superb scenery all round you may want to explore this beautiful part of Wales on foot, or for keen cyclists you can enjoy days out on two wheels returning home to this delightful cottage to wash the bikes off and store them safely away in the bike shed, before planning the next day’s activities. Visit the coast with its sandy beaches, the Millennium Coastal Path, suitable for cyclists and walkers alike, and the superb Pembrey Country Park where you can try out the dry ski slope. From this comfortable cottage your days out can be different every day, and your time spent in the cottage and its garden, will be a most enjoyable part of your holiday.

Nestling at the base of the imposing Black Mountain, the old mining village of Cwmgors provides visitors with a shop, pub and an award-winning fish and chip shop. Great walking routes are nearby, not only through the Black Mountain scenery but also in the Amman Valley. With its vast moorlands, prehistoric burial sites and medieval castles this wonderful landscape acts as the gateway to the Brecon Beacons. Just six miles away and boasting a variety of shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants is the bustling market town of Ammanford whilst the larger town of Neath is also close by. The horseracing track at Tairgwaith holds regular race meetings from March to September and has one of only two purpose built, all-weather trotting tracks. To the south are the fantastic beaches of the Welsh coastline, making this a holiday destination for everyone.
