Decked area to side with garden furniture. Small patio to front with garden furniture. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. Restored to a high standard in 2022, The Lodge is a Grade II listed property with lots of original features including bread ovens and fabulous shaped walls. The Lodge comprises a boot room/utility area with freezer and washer/dryer, and boasts an open plan living space with wood burner and Smart TV along with a sofa bed (for flexible sleeping arrangements). The dining area and kitchen are complete with induction hob and electric oven, and all crockery, cutlery and facilities you may need to rustle up a homely meal comfortably. The bathroom is complete with shower cubicle and heated towel rail. The two en-suite bedrooms are access via three steps from the living room, with the master bedroom being complemented by a kingsize bed, and the second bedroom with a small double bed. You’ll also have use of the large lawned garden that is enclosed with views of the rolling countryside, along with a decked area with garden furniture to the other side of the property, and a small patio to front of the property with garden furniture – great for your morning coffee! There is also sufficient parking for up to 3 cars. This property is perfectly located for exploring the historic town of Monmouth or simply enjoy the breath-taking views from the garden, with walks to be had in all directions from your doorstep.
The historic town of Monmouth is just 2 miles from the Lodge and has plenty of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes for you to enjoy. The town is steeped in history and a visit to Monmouth Castle is a must along with the Monnow Bridge and Gate. Spend the day at Monmouth Museum or take a visit to the lost city of Trelleck, where they offer archaeological dig experiences.
The area is also perfect for outdoor enthusiasts with a range of walking opportunities, including National Trust Kymin offering spectacular views over the rolling hills of Monmouthshire. If you wish to discover the wider area, this wonderful property is ideally located for easy access to the Brecon Beacons being about a 45-minute drive. The Forest of Dean, which has an array of activities for all ages, and the literary town of Hay-on-Wye has its famous festival each year. Abergavenny is 11 miles away and has lots of walks including Skirrid and the black mountain range, the town is renowned for its annual food festival, along with an array of shops, restaurants and cafes. Golf is available 2½ miles away, and fishing just 1½ miles away. Shops, pubs and restaurants 2 miles.
