The barn sits on the edge of an old working farm, offering views across a mature vineyard and countryside. Enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this rural location, within walking distance of the vibrant market town of Monmouth. Which is served with a greengrocer s, artisan delicatessens, bookshops and a wine merchant. The River Monnow lies in the beautiful Monnow Valley and has beautiful walks, follow the river for a couple of miles to Skenfrith Castle where you can play in the river and enjoy a pint at the pub. Take an afternoon to stroll through the Buckholt woodlands. You also have the Forest of Dean for cycling, The Wye Valley for rock climbing and kayaking and the Brecon Beacons National Park. Market towns include Ross on Wye, Abergavenny, Crickhowell and Hay on Wye. Leave the market town behind and drive into the countryside, you will find the barn set in an elevated position within a mature paddock surrounded by cleverly landscaped gardens. Step inside the large glazed barn doors into the open plan accommodation. The barn has a clever mix of both old and new, see if you can spot the original marks that line the beams. Relax with friends in the lounge area, a space that has been defined with large sofa s ready for you to sink into, a wood burner takes centre stage with wooden seating either side for you to warm up on a chilly evening, finished with colourful Kilim rugs and welsh sheepskins. There is also a TV along with traditional board games for the competitive amongst you. The barn is perfect for entertaining, the kitchen/diner will test the best of chefs and has been finished with handmade cabinets and solid oak work tops and offers an electric induction oven and hob, fridge, freezer, wine cooler, dishwasher and washing machine. A breakfast bar divides the space with hand carved wooden stools great for a morning coffee whilst plotting the day ahead. For dining in, a large wooden table with wooden settle takes centre stage, complemented with a fitted dresser brimming with colourful table ware and crockery. There is a side access with separate WC and an area for coats and muddy boots and a reclaimed Sheila maid above to dry any wet clothes. So, when the day is done climb the wooden stairs to the first floor into the A frame of the barn, where you will find three bedrooms, all with sumptuous White Company bed linen and fluffy towels. A king size bedroom where you can indulge yourself and relax in the freestanding clawfoot bath, a further king size with en suite shower room and WC. And the last, a twin room that enjoys views onto the grounds. There is also a shower room with shower and WC on this floor. The doors on the West of the barn open out onto a large patio with table and chairs for six and leads onto a grassy amphitheatre for children to play on or to relax and read a book. And, on the East side of the barn, doors open out onto a gravelled and paved stone path, bordered by a lavender bed, this opens out onto a mini orchard which has been replanted with traditional local cider and eating apples, and is surrounded by meadows. There are bike racks on the property and off road parking for several cars. There is a fast charging EV point for electric cars which is included.
