About this property

Surrounded by luscious greenery and rolling hills, just outside the peaceful village of Mitchel Troy, South Wales, find this remarkable, detached home, Lower House. Enjoying countryside views from every room and hosting a hot tub and outdoor bar, this luxury accommodation is ideal for families seeking a peaceful rural escape. Sleeps up to 10 people (+ *2 children on occasional beds). Step inside the bright and airy designer kitchen/diner with electric oven, steam oven, quooker tap, ceramic hob and microwave to rustle up culinary delights and enjoy panoramic views as you dine, inside or al fresco. Settle down at the grand dining table for a chatter and tuck-into heart-warming meals, or stroll out onto one of the two patios, for casual outdoor sofa, or table dining. Relax and unwind with two sitting rooms to choose from, featuring characterful beams, crackling stoves and TVs for entertainment. Head outside to discover the lovely formal garden and extended private woodland, with far-reaching views, where you can bask in the sun on the garden furniture, sit at the bar admiring the views, rustle up treats in the wood fired pizza oven or on the barbecue. As dusk falls, chat by the fire pit. If you are feeling active why not try badminton on the lawn, boules, or have a bounce on the sunken trampoline? As the evening draws to a close, retire indoors and climb upstairs to the first floor, with a bathroom for a soak amongst the bubbles and a walk-in shower to rinse the day away. Rest your head in the super-king-size, the king-size with en-suite or the double bedroom, all beautifully presented in neutral tones. Venture to the top floor to the two additional king-size bedrooms with eaves and an additional shower room for a morning rinse. Wake with a cup of tea in the kitchen/diner and savor the countryside views from the kitchen island as you dream about the day ahead. Stock up on fresh local and organic food from Square Farm Shop, just a short stroll away, or if you fancy a break from cooking, dine out at one of many award winning local restaurants'. Monmouthshire is a haven for foodies and home to the famous Abergavenny Food Festival. There are many stunning walks locally and the Brecon Beacons are within easy access. A scenic drive will lead you to the medieval town of Monmouth, where you can walk along the ancient bridge over the rushing river, tee up at local Rolls (of Rolls Royce fame) Golf Club, visit the famous Rockfield music studios or enjoy the quiet National Trust site of The Kymin. Lace up your walking boots and embark on an adventure to the sprawling woods of the Forest of Dean to see wonderful wildlife and spectacular sights and spend the afternoon at Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo, or Raglan Farm. For a truly special staycation, secure a stay at Lower House.

Mitchel Troy is a rural community in the Monmouthshire county of Wales, situated between the communities of Tregare, Cwncarvan, Dingestow, and Wonastow. The River Trothy runs through the settlement, providing riverside walks and a tranquil fishing area at Redhill Fishery. Treat yourself to a meal out at The Somerset Arms after stocking up on fresh fruit and vegetables and other necessities at the Square Farm Shop. The historical town of Monmouth, where the River Wye and River Monnow meet, lies just outside the hamlet; here you may see its mediaeval castle and bridge and learn more about the area's history at The Nelson Museum.
