About this property

Tucked away in an idyllic countryside setting, in the charming market town of Monmouth, rests this characterful two-bedroom holiday home, Brookside Cottage. Beautifully-adorned with exposed beams, original stonework and a babbling brook running alongside this wonderful abode, Brookside Cottage makes an excellent choice for an adventure on the Welsh/English border. Mar-vel at the rustic stone-built exterior of your new home-from-home as you step into the sunny porchway to begin your staycation, unloading your belongings and kicking off your shoes in the handy space before moving through to the living/dining room to settle in. A traditional woodburn-ing stove sits within an exposed stone fireplace, with two sumptuous sofas gathered nearby, entic-ing you to enjoy a moment of peace in front of the television as the crackle of the flames sets the ambiance in the room. A well-equipped kitchen sits off from this sociable space, fit with all the necessities to help rustle up hearty meals throughout your stay, whilst the handy washing machine helps keep your holiday attire fresh and clean! Uncork a bottle of wine and gather with your loved ones at the nearby dining table to indulge in the fruits of your labour or make the most of your ru-ral setting and enjoy a spot of alfresco dining out on the patio in your peaceful garden. When sleep calls, two well-presented double bedrooms can be found on the first floor, one benefiting from access to its own en-suite, whilst the second is serviced by the stylish family bathroom set across the way. Situated along the border of England and Wales, you'll find a wealth of adventures to be had leading directly from your doorstep; lace up your walking boots and embark on a hike through the towering woodland of the Forest of Dean or spend a peaceful afternoon testing your swing in the rural greenery of Wales with a visit to Monmouth Golf Club. For those evenings where you fan-cy a break from the kitchen, the heart of Monmouth is a short distance away, brimming with tradi-tional pubs, hearty cafes, and delicious takeaways to choose from, whilst The Nelson Museum & Local History Centre and Monmouth Castle are both well worth a visit whilst you're in the area. The popular market town of Abergavenny is easily accessible, with its local history museum, regular market stalls and handful of amenities, whilst the gentle hills of the Brecon Beacons National Park rests slightly further afield, ideal for those looking for an outdoor adventure. Discover Mid Wales with a stay at Brookside Cottage.

Monmouth is a fascinating market town on the Welsh-English border, close to Offa's Dyke, combining old and new, with old castle ruins to a weekly market. Enjoy river boating, scenic walks, shopping and even rowing competitions from this centrally located town at the confluence of three rivers. Monmouth is famous for being Henry V's birthplace and for its historic buildings, including a preserved 13th century bridge over the River Monnow and the famous Nelson Garden. A short drive will take you to Usk, Abergavenny, Ross-on-Wye, and even the spectacular Brecon Beacons, Forest of Dean, and Wye Valley.
