Well placed for walking and for exploring the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean, it is also within easy driving distance of Tintern, Monmouth, Chepstow, Ross-on-Wye and Symonds Yat. Pub next door. Bridge cottage was lovely. Clean and spacious. Being as it’s mostly an old stone cottage there is an air of ‘damp’ but it adds to the charm. Located right next to the friendly pub and right on the river. Loan Lane is very narrow and parking just opposite in a lay-by is a bit tight. A power shower would be a good investment by the owners as the current one is a bit lame! The log burners were problematic, from opening the door on one to the draw up the flue on the other, maybe we were just a bit useless! None the less, a great stay and a good location allowing access to the Wye valley. I think even with the minor issues we would love to stay again. The pub next door has great food and drinks and wasn’t too noisy.

I loved Bridge cottage. It was spacious, well equipped and spotlessly clean. I loved the decking, watching the buzzards soaring & calling overhead. As walkers it was ideal as a location, close to the forest and plenty of walks close by.The Boat Inn next door was a bonus, but should be noted that they don't serve food every night, or past lunch time on a Sunday, and the Bell Inn over the bridge stops serving about four.
