About this property

Penperlleni 2.5 miles. Tucked away in the village of Llanover, you will find Hanover Manse, which in the early 17th Century began life as a farm and Dissenters meeting place. Encompassed by the stunning scenery of the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons National Park), this picture postcard property offers an idyllic setting for a family of six, seeking an unforgettable adventure in Wales. Leave your mud-splattered boots by the door, as you return to the warm embrace of this homely abode, kicking back in the sitting room by the striking woodburning stove as you snuggle up to loved ones and enjoy a captivating movie on the sleek TV. Escape with a new and exciting novel to the snug and watch as your beloved dog rests peacefully by the electric stove, a truly wonderful spot to delight in a moment of peace and quiet. A few steps away, the spacious country-style kitchen hosting all the essential appliances, acts as the hub of the home, bringing the whole family together as you indulge in many delicious home-cooked meals throughout your stay. After an eventful and tiresome day, retire up the magnificent wood staircase to one of the three first-floor bedrooms, each adorned with high-vaulted beam ceilings and exposed stone walls, as well as many attractive yet traditional furnishings that really add to the properties charm. The first of the bedrooms is home to a spacious king-size with an en-suite bathroom hosting a gorgeous roll top bath and separate en-suite shower, whilst just down the hall a second king-size with en-suite shower room provides a calming space to lay your head to rest. Completing the bedrooms is a quirky twin with lovely neutral hues and views across the fields, the perfect place to tuck-in the children and send them off to sleep with their favourite lullaby. Make the most of warmer climates with afternoon spent out on the lawns, basking in the sun rays whist embracing your fantastic countryside setting. Leave behind this splendid dwelling as you embark on a fun-filled expedition in the great outdoors. Pull on your hiking boots to climb the heights of Blorange, Sugar Loaf and the Skirrid or take a more relaxed approach as you wander through the beautiful woodlands of Silent Valley Nature Reserve. See what remains of Castell Crov or spit the imposing Folly Tower on a stroll through Pontypool Park. The Blaenavon Ironworks, Cwmtillery Colliery and St Illtyd's Motte are all worth a visit, whilst cascading waterfalls and pretty reservoirs await you in mountainous terrains of Dol-y-Gaer. Head out onto the waters with a thrilling day of canoeing at Parkwood Outdoors Dolygaer, or step back in time on a tour of the restored 16th-century home of Llancaiach Fawr Manor. Hop in the car and uncover the enchanting Clearwell Caves and Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo, or catch a train to the cities of Newport and Cardiff, offering ample opportunity for an evening of wining and dining. Admire the intricate details of Newport Cathedral, or learn of the rich local history as you explore the Gothic fortress of Cardiff Castle resting on the banks of the River Taff, Discover Wales like never before on a holiday at Hanover Manse.

It had everything you could possibly need & more. It was beautifully decorated for us for Christmas & they left a lovely Christmassy welcome pack. If we had any complaints, it was that the weather was too warm & we couldn't light the beautiful log burner, but we certainly can't blame the owner for that

We were a bridal party of 6 & there was plenty of room. Perfect location for the wedding venue (Sant Ffreadd house - 10 mins away through the lanes). Loads of room for makeup & hair to be done on the Saturday morning. Parking area large enough for 5 or 6 cars & the photographer's van. Bride & groom stayed in the cottage after the wedding & found it very comfortable, warm & cosy. Thank you to Rhiannon for the card & Prosecco for the newly weds.

No downstairs toilet with high steps on the stairs was wearing for the less mobile. Only one gate tag meant we all had to go out together. To many personal items around e.g. the office in the snug. It doesn't feel like a holiday cottage more like you're intruding in someone's home.
