Enjoying a peaceful position with stunning countryside views, Pencerrig Isaf makes for an idyllic base for a small family or group of friends seeking a rural retreat. Take in the marvellous countryside views that envelope this lovely dwelling as you park up on the spacious driveway before unloading your belongings and making your way through the delightful olive coloured doorway to begin your staycation. Be charmed by the fabulous open-plan living space, beautifully appointed with a homely interior, home to a handful of snug sofas gathered in front of a warming electric log burner, enticing you to kick off your shoes and unwind with a moment of peace in front of the Smart TV. Venture over to the well-equipped kitchen area where you'll find a range of fantastic amenities, including an electric oven and induction home, here you can rustle up some tasty dishes for your loved ones to enjoy gathered around the nearby dining table. In the warmer months, make mealtimes an alfresco affair with a sociable seat on the front patio; a truly lovely spot to soak in the unspoilt vistas as you toast a glass of fizz to an unforgettable holiday. As the day draws to night, retreat indoors and retire to either of the two well-presented bedrooms, with your choice between a king-size, offering a handy zip/link feature for flexible sleeping arrangements, or a sumptuous double room, each providing the perfect setting to rest your head. In the morning, kick-start your day with an invigorating shower before heading outside to enjoy a steaming cup of coffee amongst the crisp countryside air. Take a break from doing the cooking and indulge in a delicious spot of pub grub at the Red Cow Inn, located just a short walk away from the cottage, here you can cosy up around the rustic open fire, or soak in the last of the evening sun with a chilled glass of wine in the beer garden. If you're not ready for the night to be over, visit The Butchers Arms Bunkhouse and Brewpub, where you can sample beers created by themselves in their own brewery, The Crafty Dragon. For a scenic stroll, Pontsticill Reservoir is set a short distance away, or save your legs and board the Brecon Mountain Railway, a traditional steam engine traveling alongside the reservoir towards the Brecon Beacons National Park. Whilst you're in the area, be sure to lace up your walking boots and embark on an adventure through the National Park, where rolling hills and wild open moorland offer a plethora of trails, including the hike to the summit of Pen y Fan, the highest peak in South Wales. Visit the nearby town of Merthyr Tydfil, where you can immerse yourself in local history with a tour of Cyfarthfa Castle Museum and Art Gallery, a 17th century castle housing a fascinating museum and art galley, indulge in a spot of retail therapy at Cyfarthfa Retail Park, or challenge the little ones with a game at Superbowl UK. The cities of Cardiff and Newport are within easy touring distance, each offering a fabulous selection of sights and attractions, as well as a vibrant nightlife, or if that's not your thing, visit the small town of Barry, famed as the backdrop of the popular British comedy television series, Gavin & Stacey. Make memories that will last a lifetime with a stay at Pencerrig Isaf.
