The main living area is a stunning, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, bathed in natural light and boasting luxurious touches including leather sofas and underfloor heating. Cook up a storm in the elegant kitchen to share at the breakfast bar or grand dining table. After dinner, retire to the lounge area, or challenge fellow guests to a table tennis match in the cosy games room. Three large, en-suite bedrooms complete the first floor. A spectacular super-king-size bedroom is set on the second floor, with an en-suite bathroom, relaxation area, and jaw-dropping views through the gable windows. A wrap-around, decked balcony is accessed from the first floor, providing the perfect place for al fresco dining on a summer’s day.
Porthmadog is a bustling harbour town with a good range of shops and eateries to explore. Steeped in maritime history, a visit to the museum is a must, as is a ride on the narrow-gauge railways that pass through the town. A jaunt along the Wales Coast Path brings you to Criccieth (6 miles), known as the gateway to the Llyn Peninsula and famous for its dramatic castle ruins on the headland. Portmeirion Village (3 miles) makes a lovely day out, wandering amongst the Italianate architecture and ornamental gardens.
