Penygroes is a delightful peaceful village around six miles from the old castle town of Caernarfon, bordering the Snowdonia National Park and offering excellent scenic treks and mountain vistas. The village has a nice assortment of stores, cafés, and bars, and the surrounding region has many restaurants and activities such as golfing, swimming, tennis, surfing, and horse riding, to mention a few. Plas Dinas Country House, which has a rich history and houses The Gun Room restaurant, is also close.
