About this property

A delightful, detached stone cottage, set in the grounds of the owner's home, ideally located in the heart of the picturesque, conservation village of Gwaenysgor in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, two miles from the coastal destination of Prestatyn, on the popular North Wales Coast. Comfortably furnished throughout, this pretty, detached cottage combines simple styling with modern day comforts, making it ideal for two people to enjoy the delights of the area, offering easy access onto the Offa’s Dyke Path which passes through the village. Entering through the hallway into a modern open plan sitting room with dining area and a cosy, woodburner-effect electric fire, you will feel at home straight away. The kitchen makes good use of the space provided and is fitted with all your daily requirements, whilst access to the owner’s utility room with washing machine, along with additional freezer space is just yards from the cottage and is readily available on request. There is a downstairs shower room and a first floor mezzanine bedroom off the hallway, with a comfy super king-size double bed which can be twin beds if desired. Outside, there is a private, secluded, fenced garden area with a decked patio, set against a terraced stone wall which allows you to enjoy the lovely fresh countryside air whilst enjoying a coffee and reading the morning papers or cooking an afternoon barbecue after exploring the local area. If you don't feel like cooking then why not take a short stroll just three minutes to the popular village pub with its excellent restaurant, the perfect spot for a night off from the kitchen? Many walks and cycle routes can be enjoyed from the doorstep of this lovely cottage, and it is a birdwatcher’s paradise with The Point of Ayr RSPB Nature Reserve close by. This wonderful cottage offers everything required for walkers, birdwatchers or romantic couples to have a fantastic holiday.

Set on the side of a hill in the quiet North Wales countryside, the tiny village of Gwaenysgor is situated within the Clwydian Hill Range, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The summit is a mere quarter of a mile away and provides a wonderful panoramic view over the countryside and coast. With a very good pub, the village is well placed for joining the Offa's Dyke National Trail, which lies within a few minutes walk. The beaches at Prestatyn offer a safe spot for family fun on the sand as well as those looking for a place to try various water sports. There are also a number of lovely walks through the pretty countryside as well as four excellent golf courses, a leisure centre, the Mountain Zoo at Colwyn Bay and the Victorian resort of Llandudno – all waiting to be explored.

The cottage was exactly described online. The staff could not have been more helpful.

There were gorgeous views of Snowdonia and the sea within minutes and great local walks. The quick drive to Prestatyn was precipitous and a little alarming the first time I drove it. It was clean and comfortable and the owner was helpful and friendly. The decking out back was delightful. I would definitely consider a return visit.
