About this property

Hay Loft at Ebenezer Chapel is a lovely annex resting in Milwr, Flintshire, enjoying off-road parking, a reverse-level layout, and a garden with a veranda for spending time outside. Well-suited to couples seeking time away in North Wales, this inviting retreat pairs practical touches with a characterful layout, creating a memorable base for days of walking, sightseeing, and discovering the surrounding countryside. Step inside and you will find the bedroom on the lower ground floor, offering a peaceful place to settle after a day of exploring. Nearby, the shower room is fitted with a walk-in shower, basin, and WC, while a separate cloakroom adds extra convenience to the layout.

Head upstairs and the property opens into a bright first-floor living space, where the kitchen, dining area, and sitting area come together in one welcoming room. Whether you are preparing a simple breakfast before heading out or returning later to put on the kettle and stretch out in front of the television, the space has been arranged to make your stay feel easy and relaxed. Underfloor heating adds to the welcoming feel throughout the property, while outside, the lawned garden and veranda invite slow mornings with a coffee or quiet evenings with your four-legged companion by your side. Beyond the property, nearby Holywell offers a rewarding day out, with St Winefride’s Well drawing visitors for centuries, while Greenfield Valley Heritage Park and Basingwerk Abbey add further historic interest to the area.

For a change of pace, head to Mold, where you can browse Mold Market, take in a performance at Theatr Clwyd, or wander up to Bailey Hill for a glimpse into the town’s past. If scenic walks are more your style, Halkyn is close by and opens the door to Halkyn Mountain, known for its industrial heritage, open walking land, and far-reaching views across Flintshire and towards the Dee Estuary. However you choose to spend your break, Hay Loft at Ebenezer Chapel is a charming base for exploring this corner of North Wales.

The market town of Holywell in North Wales takes its name from the town’s most famous attraction, the 7th century St Winefride’s Well, one of the Seven Wonders of Wales. Holywell boasts over 60 listed buildings, with a variety of late Georgian and Victorian buildings on offer, along with a pedestrianised shopping centre, pubs, restaurants and an open-air market every Thursday. Just one mile away are the 12th century ruins of Basingwerk Abbey within the grounds of the Greenfield Valley Heritage Park, with its museum. There are many lovely walking routes in the area, including the open common area at Halkyn Mountain, Pennant Way, Offa’s Dyke and The Welsh Coastal Path. Within driving distance is the pretty Market town of Mold, which holds an outdoor market on a Wednesday and Saturday. The historic city of Chester, with its famous Rows, Roman Walls, racecourse, zoo, shops and restaurants is just over the border in England. The beautiful Welsh Coast is easily reached with the little seaside village and beach of Talacre only a short drive away. Prestatyn, Rhyl, and of course Llandudno are also easily accessible, together with the majestic mountains of Snowdonia. There are also some beautiful gardens to visit, Ness on the Wirral, and Bodnant Gardens in Snowdonia to name just two.
